Job Summary

Under supervision of the Bayfront Manager, guided by policies and procedures of the Ambulatory Services, and in collaboration with the Clinical Nursing Staff, the Medical Assistants assist in the delivery of care to patients in the Bayfront ambulatory group practices. Work includes a performing and assisting with a variety of clinical procedures, reconciling patient's medications and communicating health care maintenance reminders to assure positive care outcomes. S/he will perform assigned patient care and laboratory procedures in support of the primary or specialty care services provided to patients within the practices. S/he is required to learn and be able to assist in all the Allergy & Immunology services. S/he is required to adhere to the Living Pride Standards and Telephone and House Standards as adopted by the Medical Center.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $32.86 - $41.01 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications

* Active American Heart Association CPR certification
* California State CPT-1 certification
* Certification from an approved Medical Assistant program; or equivalent combination of training and experience
* Experience working in a busy clinic setting, must be able to multi-task and be flexible in work assignments.
* Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
* Familiar with common allergy medications and procedures.
* Strong computer skills and use of Microsoft Office
* One year of experience working in a healthcare setting
* The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations is required

Preferred Qualifications

* Bilingual/multilingual
* Experience with insurance verification, medical record data abstraction or patient financial services
* One year of Medical Assisting (MA) experience

License/Certification

* Current American Heart Association CPR certification
* California State CPT-1 certification
* Current Medical Assisting certification
