ABOUT THE ROLE

This role will be known as Maintenance Technician among colleagues and within the PRO business. Within the broader SCJ organization, the job is graded as Technician, Maintenance.

Position Overview:

The role of the Maintenance Technician is to support all maintenance functions at our Stanley, NC manufacturing facility. The Maintenance Technician will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and will ensure the facility and equipment are kept in a good working condition. The Maintenance Technician is an integral part of the organization as they ensure the proper operation of the facility, equipment, electrical controls and components, mechanical, pneumatic systems, plumbing, pumps, and related systems. The Maintenance Technician performs packaging line changeovers/setups of equipment and provide support during operations necessary to maintain production standards. Ability to multi-tasking and work independently is a must. This person will provide support for the manufacture of SCJ Professional floor care products and associated equipment. This person may be required to work overtime with short notice. Working overlapping shifts, at times, to cover for vacations and vacancies is required at times but is planned using input from the entire Maintenance Team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Include, but not limited to the following:

Facility Support

  • Maintain, inspect, operate, and repair the boiler, hot water, and compressed air systems.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on doors, roofs, walls, beams, HVAC PMs, installation and repairs of safety railings and signs, installation of new equipment.
  • Cleaning and maintaining work areas.
  • Work with outside contractors on project work.

Manufacturing Equipment Support

  • Changeover/set-up, and repair liquid packaging equipment such as fillers, label applicators, printers, case erectors, robot cells, palletizers, conveyors and ultrasonic welders.
  • PM and repair of mixing equipment including but not limited to mixing vessels, transfer pumps, and associated piping systems.
  • Responsible for the completion of all repairs and preventative maintenance of equipment.
  • Using the machinery's PLC, troubleshoot and repair machines.
  • Troubleshoot and repair A/C and D/C Circuits, control Circuits and motors.
  • Perform welding, fabrication, and pipe fitting.
  • Support and maintain specialized equipment necessary to manufacture SCJ professional floor care products included but not limited to liquid fillers, case erectors, label applicators and shrink tunnels.
  • Calibration of equipment such as temperature sensors, mass flow meters and batching control systems.
  • Operate and troubleshoot Fanuc robots.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING

  • 5 + years of experience in the role of an Industrial Maintenance Technician or a Multi-craft Technician in a GMP manufacturing environment.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS

  • Knowledgeable in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, pumps, pipefitting, blueprints reading, HVAC systems, carpentry, machine and equipment maintenance, packaging equipment changeover/ setup and other related equipment and systems.
  • Ability to use various hand and power tools.
  • Ability to weld, cut metal with a torch/plasma cutter and fabrication equipment parts as needed.
  • Skilled in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing of A/C and D/C Circuits, control circuits.
  • Operational knowledge of Fanuc Robot work cells.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Work with minimum supervision.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Work outside on occasions and work in non-air-conditioned indoor environments, work in confined spaces and elevated work areas.
  • Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 30 lbs., up to 75 lbs. with assistance.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, crawl, reach, stand, and walk on a frequent basis.
  • Must be able to see small items, grasp and hold small items.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, hear, concentrate, and comprehend complex data.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak in English.

This position is not eligible for remote work.
