Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Is this the right position to help you achieve your professional goals? Some of the key responsibilities for the position include:

    Preparing air emissions inventories and environmental compliance reports;
  • Preparing emissions calculations and air permit applications;
  • Conducting regulatory analyses related to federal, state, and local air regulations regarding Clean Air Act, National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAPs), and New Source Performance Standards (NSPS);
  • Conducting air dispersion modeling analysis;
  • Performing analyses related to air pollution control systems and source monitoring and measurement requirements; and
  • Providing environmental compliance and litigation support services, such as compliance audits and reviews, hazardous waste and material management.
  • Training: This position requires health and safety, first aid, CPR, and other training, as well as medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our employees to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.
  • Fieldwork: Up to 20%
  • Overnight travel: Up to 20%

Additionally, the selected candidate may be asked to support environmental permitting and compliance services in related disciplines, such as those driven by the Clean Water Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act, and National Environmental Policy Act.



Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in environmental or chemical engineering or an aligned scientific discipline. (required)
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification, if applicable. (preferred)
  • Advanced degree in environmental or chemical engineering. (preferred)


Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of air quality permitting and compliance experience with an environmental consulting firm or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Experience with air quality modeling (SCREEN3, AERSCREEN, and AERMOD). (preferred)
  • Strong hands-on spreadsheet and database comprehension. (required)
  • Experienced in air quality permitting and air quality compliance in Texas (required) and Louisiana. (preferred)
  • Experience in environmental compliance services (stormwater, spill planning, hazardous waste, etc.) and compliance auditing. (preferred)
  • Regular field work and overnight travel. (required)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
