JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

A highly motivated undergraduate research assistant is needed for the public-impact research project related to Opioid Epidemic and its impact on the communities. The project is jointly run by Penn State Scranton and Penn State Great Valley and incorporates AI/ML methodology with applications to socioeconomic factors.

The research assistant will understand the nature of the issues through deep involvement in literature review, data analysis, summarizing, and presenting the results.

This is a fully remote position.

Qualifications:

  • Business and/or quantitative studies background is required
  • Basic data analysis and processing skills as well as an understanding of statistical analysis are required
  • Some knowledge of MS Excel is required
  • Some experience with SQL, MS Access, SAS, and/or Python is strongly desired
  • Any programming experience is helpful
  • A desire to learn, ability to work remotely and independently under limited supervision, strong commitment, organizational skills, and result-driven approach are a must

Position requires 10 hours of work every week until grant funding is exhausted. The hourly rate is $12.
