Casual Staff - Shabbat Coordinator (Beren)

Position Responsibilities:




  • Organize waitstaff schedule.
  • Track waitstaff hours throughout the year.
  • Track Shabbat attendance.
  • Oversee all aspects of Shabbat meals.
  • Communicate with Food Services and the Office of Torah and Spiritual Life about Shabbat needs.
  • Ensure that all laws of Shabbat pertaining to cooking and food preparation are being followed by the Shabbat waitstaff.
  • Assist in set-up, preparation, and food service.
  • Shabbat Wait-Staff.
  • Assist in set-up.
  • Assist in the preparation of food.
  • Act as waitress for the Shabbat Meal.
  • Be available to work two Shabbatots per month.



Experience & Educational Background:




  • Must have a substantial understanding of the relevant laws of Shabbat.
  • Once hired, must go through Mashgicha training provided by OSL before working.
  • Experience with Shabbat at Beren is preferable.
  • Graduate assistant living on campus.



Skills & Competencies:




  • Available to work flexible hours, including weekends.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Able to follow instructions in compliance with City Health code.



Salary Range:



$30-$30 per hour
