Job Duties:
- Collaborate with telecom carriers and third-party laboratories (e.g., T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T, ATMCL Lab, Tech Mahindra Lab) to plan and execute certification testing, ensuring compliance with 3GPP and operator-specific standards. Responsibilities include managing test plans, provisioning devices, and compiling test reports for certification.
- Troubleshoot complex device issues by analyzing protocol logs with Qualcomm QXDM, QCAT, ELT, and Wireshark. Work with development teams to investigate connectivity failures, call quality degradation, data throughput drops, and roaming anomalies.
- Design and implement structured test plans covering both manual and automated scenarios for features such as VoLTE, VoNR, network transitions, and roaming. Develop test workflows using Python or shell scripts and integrate into CI pipelines for robust and scalable verification.
- Track and manage software defects using internal bug tracking systems. Conduct root cause analysis through log tracing, reproduce critical issues in lab conditions, and execute regression testing for verified fixes. Provide regular defect status updates to internal teams.
- Maintain and upgrade internal automated lab testing infrastructure to support wireless device validation. Use Python and related tools to build and improve automation frameworks, enhance script reliability, and reduce manual workload.
- Analyze field data and customer feedback gathered through logging platforms and support systems. Categorize issues by severity and frequency, work with development teams to prioritize fixes, and deliver actionable insights to improve future product quality.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software development, RF engineering, and systems testing, to plan and execute end-to-end validation activities. Share test progress and documentation via internal collaboration platforms to ensure alignment across teams.
- Coordinate third-party lab testing with partners such as ATMCL Lab and Tech Mahindra Lab. Review failure logs, replicate issues in-house, and prepare detailed technical documentation to support certification approval and issue closure.
- Continuously refine testing protocols and automation coverage by reviewing failure patterns, updating legacy scripts, and incorporating industry QA best practices. Conduct post-launch reviews to identify improvement areas in coverage, tooling, and reporting.
