Position Description:

Accountable for the Biomedical Technology which includes leveraging healthcare technology and information systems to ensure patients, visitors, and coworkers an exceptional experience at UHS facilities. The Biomedical Tech Manager drives all aspects of the UHS Biomed program toward excellence. The Biomedical Tech Manager has primary responsibility to implement and sustain all policies and procedures of the operational strategies for biomed's responsibility. The Biomedical Tech Manager uses local facility required organizational metrics and key performance indicators (KPI's), develops local Biomed KPI's, and provides appropriate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting metrics meeting and/or exceeding expected deliverables for the assigned facilities. The Biomed Manager provides direction, development and mentoring of the Biomed staff at the facilities of responsibility. The HTM Manager is responsible for all HTM fiduciary results and for all HTM required regulatory compliance for the HTM Program for the facilities assigned.

Duties:

  • Works with HTM Leadership, and facility leadership/coworkers to effectively manage the HTM program and deliver the results and expectations for program excellence.
  • Develops and sustains vendor relationships, as well as coworker relationships.
  • Documents and maintains records of all work activities in the computerized maintenance management software. Participates in continuing education.
  • Participates in on-call schedule/rotation as directed.
  • Works with the assigned UHS facilities to develop, maintain and sustain a 5-year capital plan for devices included in the CMMS database. Facilitates device evaluations, as assigned, for medical devices.
  • Assists UHS HTM leadership with identifying and suggesting devices for device acquisition and/or replacement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned/required.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience with healthcare technology management programs.
  • Ability to supervise subordinates.
  • Manages projects including device acquisition and installation and/or EOC committee assignments.
  • ACI Certification Required (CBET, CRES, CLES or CHTM).
  • Must possess skill set of advanced modalities in HTM expertise such as clinical laboratory, medical imaging, radiation/oncology, real-time location systems, alarm management middleware or high-end biomedical devices such as device integration/networking, catheterization lab/electrophysiology monitoring systems.
  • Medical equipment knowledge (manufacturers, models, modalities, capital planning, etc...).
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements of medical devices (CMS, TJC, CLIA, AABB, NRC,State, Local).
  • Advanced/Strong computer skills (proficient with Microsoft products), experience with CMMS products.
  • Strong planning and organization skills. Excellent verbal, written, communication and presentation skills.
  • Travel will be required periodically
