Position Title: Rework/Production Worker

Wage: $20.52 per hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: 7:00am-3:00pm

Put your welding skills to work at this great company! We're seeking an experienced welder for a hands-on Rework position in Quincy, IL. You'll repair wheels and steel components, tackle quality challenges, and help keep production moving. If you take pride in quality workmanship and working safely, we want to hear from you! Welding experience is required, and candidates must pass a welding test.

Rework/Production Worker Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Review identified defects and follow approved rework instructions provided by production supervisors and quality personnel.

- Perform welding repairs on wheels and steel components according to established procedures and specifications.

- Set up and operate welding equipment, making adjustments appropriate for the assigned repair.

- Grind, clean, and prepare surfaces before welding and remove excess weld material as required.

- Use grinders, hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment to complete and verify repairs.

- Read and follow blueprints, production routers, work orders, and rework instructions.

- Inspect components before, during, and after rework to identify defects and verify that repairs meet specifications.

- Notify the supervisor or quality department when a component cannot be repaired according to approved instructions.

- Keep nonconforming components identified and separated until required inspections and approval are completed.

- Complete required rework, production, and inspection documentation.

- Safely handle and position wheels and materials using approved lifting equipment and procedures.

- Inspect equipment before use and report damage, malfunctions, or safety concerns.

- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

- Meet production expectations while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Rework/Production Worker Requirements:

- Previous hands-on welding experience required.

- Must successfully pass a welding test demonstrating the ability to produce welds that meet the company's requirements.

- Ability to safely set up and operate welding equipment.

- Experience using grinders, hand tools, and power tools.

- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions, blueprints, and production specifications.

- Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize weld defects and other quality concerns.

-Reliable attendance and punctuality.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Ability to work assigned shifts, overtime, and weekends as required.

- Ability to perform consistent welding repairs that meet established quality standards.

- Ability to identify defects and follow approved repair procedures.

- Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills.

- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

- Ability to maintain productivity without compromising safety or quality.

- Commitment to following required inspection and documentation procedures.

- Ability to stand and walk for 8-12 hours per shift.

- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and repetitive movements.

- Ability to grip, push, pull, and manipulate tools and materials throughout the shift.

- Ability to lift and move materials within the department's established requirements, using lifting equipment or team assistance as required.

- Ability to safely position and handle heavy wheels and steel components.

- Ability to work in a hot, loud, and physically demanding manufacturing environment.

Preferred Requirements:

- High school diploma or GED.

- Previous manufacturing, industrial welding, or metal fabrication experience.

- MIG welding experience.

- Experience repairing or reworking welded steel components.

- Experience using calipers, gauges, tape measures, and other measuring tools.

- Welding certification is beneficial but does not replace the required welding test.
