Job Description

Kearney & Company is seeking a Data Migration SME to join our growing firm! This individual will collaborate with a team focused on developing and executing data cleansing, data analysis, architecture, and data conversion.

Responsibilities / duties include but not limited to:

  • Use SQL to assess, reconcile, map and extract, transform, and load (ETL) financial and procurement data including master and transactional datasets from legacy systems to the future state solution
  • Participate in multiple mock data conversions, testing scripts based on business rules, applying crosswalks, completing data conversion templates, and reconciling records.
  • Perform crosswalks and reconciliations of financial data elements between legacy and target systems
  • Perform comprehensive business analysis and process and data modeling using both manual and automated tools for financial and procurement functions. This includes analyzing master data, metadata, transactional data, and interface data.
  • Provide technical guidance in data management, including data architecture, analytics/reporting, quality, cleansing, and conversion from legacy systems to the new solution.
  • Recommend data fixes, promote cleansed data through test cycles, and support the final cutover.
  • Acts independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the data reconciliations and mapping, data cleansing, conversion testing, and/or data migration.
  • Develops dashboards to enable further data analysis, reconciliations and data-driven decisions
  • Support various data management-related requests and working groups as needed.
  • Gather lessons learned from each project phase and actively apply them in future endeavors.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 11+ years of relevant experience
    OR
  • Master's degree in a related field with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • Experience analyzing financial and procurement data.
  • Demonstrated proficiency to write, run, and interpret SQL queries.
  • Experience performing ETL processes and data transformation.
  • Experience working with data schemas and models
  • Experienced with data migration phases and/or data management concepts
  • Demonstrated critical thinking ability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Agency Suitability clearance (requires US Citizenship)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters degree in related field and 6+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience supporting a federal financial system migration/implementation program.
  • Experience with performing multiple ETL processes and data migrations
  • Ability to document complex technical processes and data flows clearly and concisely.
  • Proficient knowledge of financial systems and their feeder systems, including data flow and integration points.
  • Experience in developing data management strategies and plans
  • Expertise in testing data mapping, performing data validation, and identifying discrepancies.

The expected salary range for this position is between $80,000 and $140,000. This range is representative of base pay only and does not include straight time pay for hours worked over 40 per week, company contributions towards paid benefits, and/or bonuses. Actual compensation (meeting or exceeding the range) will be determined based on specific experience, education, work location, clearance level, and other factors permitted by law. This position is eligible for bonuses (when applicable).
