Job Description Summary: The Computer Technician tests and provides quality, efficient repairs for laptop computers and other electronics as needed. This role works within a team of 4 to 6 Technicians under the direction of a Lead Technician to complete exceptional work refurbishing recycled laptops to the specifications needed for retail and wholesale customers. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience building and repairing laptops, can work independently within a team for a common goal, and is interested in keeping technology out of landfills by getting it ready for a new home. The Computer Technician will often interact with and sometimes train employees in our Work Readiness program, which primarily employs people leaving incarceration or recovering from substance use disorders. Essential Functions:
- Computer Testing and Refurbishing - Tests all products through the proper testing procedure. Refurbishes or replaces parts that fail.
- Maintains an adequate workflow to meet daily goals
- Sorting Computers - Sorts laptops coming in per the direction of the department lead.
- Clearly and quickly communicates any needs with the department lead.
- Identifies parts that can be kept for in-house refurbishing and resale. Organizes the area for parts being stored.
- Organizes all parts in their respective areas. Does not allow clutter to build up. Keeps tools accessible that are needed for proper workflow.
- Accurately inputs descriptions of laptops into the inventory sheet along with proper labeling.
- Identifies resalable parts, processors, memory, drives, optical drives, batteries, etc. Once identified, tests parts and moves them to the proper resale channel.
- Cleans area, dusts if needed. Puts all tools away at the end of the day.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in troubleshooting/repairing laptops required, refurbishing laptops in a production role strongly preferred.
- Able to learn and expand knowledge of repair items and capable of performing quality repair services.
- Flexible in work, willing to assist in other areas as needed.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Able to qualify as a NAID Access employee, which includes: a drug test, successfully passing a written test, having the past 7 years of employment verified, and a criminal background check that returns no theft-related convictions within the past 7 years.

Environment and Physical Demands:
- A traditional work week (M-F) with core hours of 8 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Works in a warehouse setting which includes:
- Regularly sitting at a desk, using a computer, standing, walking, and peeling labels.
- Occasionally reach, rotate hands, stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift and move up to 40lbs, utilizing appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
- Moderate noise levels, moving machinery, conveyors, dust, and chemicals.
