People * Customers * Trust Hexacomb is the largest manufacturer of paper honeycomb in the United States. We are a leader in helping our customers package, transport and display products of all kinds. A typical Hexacomb plant will have a workforce from 20 to 70 employees. The Production Supervisor, Hexacomb is responsible for planning and supervising the activities of personnel and resources assigned to production. This includes the responsibility for coordinating the seamless execution of operations, meeting production goals, and all aspects of supervising production employees during a shift. Principle Accountabilities: Supervise, resolve conflicts, provide training, evaluate performance and ensure efficient scheduling of the production staff including the recommendation of personnel actions such as hiring, evaluations, promotions and disciplinary action. Assign and keep records of employee shift times, attendance, schedules and hours. Optimize all material, personnel, equipment and time resources utilization to improve productivity while limiting waste and without compromising health, safety, and quality standards. Coordinate activity with the Plant Manager, Hexacomb to plan and manage daily and weekly schedules to meet production goals, prioritize work orders, maintain quality requirements, and assure an even flow of work through all the departments with minimal or no interruptions. Enforce health, safety, and quality procedures and regulations. Train new hires and retrain existing employees on all equipment, protocols, production standards, safety regulations and waste control. Analyze production performance, identify opportunities, make recommendations for process and equipment improvement, establish and execute goals. Enforces health, safety, and quality procedures and regulations Supervise efficient operation of equipment including the inspection of materials, products and equipment to detect and/or prevent malfunctions. Read and analyze work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs. Maintain a clean, safe and injury-free work environment. Request materials, supplies, equipment parts, or repair services as needed. Maintain operations data such as time, production and cost records, and prepare management reports of production results. Know and follow policies and procedures of the company, share information that would benefit other members of the team and find ways to improve the delivery of service to our customers. Basic Qualifications: Education equivalent to high school diploma required. 2+ years previous experience in a supervisory capacity at a manufacturing facility. Previous experience in coaching, training, teambuilding, performance development and conflict resolution. Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed. Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle numerous details, deadlines, and requests. Solid analytical, mechanical and mathematical skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all individuals at all levels throughout the company. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively lead and communicate with production team and management. Working knowledge of computer systems.
