Scope of Position The Senior Quality Specialist serves as Haskell's onsite technical quality representative responsible for protecting design intent, construction quality, client confidence, and long - term facility performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Working alongside project leadership, craft professionals, design teams, subcontractors, and owners, this role drives implementation of the Quality Implementation Plan (QIP), verifies execution of critical work activities, identifies project risks before t hey become failures, and promotes a culture where quality is planned -not inspected into the work. This position promotes the use of materials, finishes, systems, and details that demonstrate excellent long - term quality performance and supports the organization's commitment to "Quality Brand Protection."
The position is ideally suited for construction professionals who enjoy solving technical problems, influencing field operations, mentoring project teams, and contributing to some of the industry's largest and most complex projects.
Job Responsibilities
- Design Phase / Mobilization
- Initiate or support initiation of the Quality Implementation Plan on assigned projects.
- Conduct or support the design Quality kick - off meeting.
- Ensure design reviews are completed and that the design "go / no - go" approval is received
from the Design Manager
- Ensure project quality risks are identified, established, mitigated, and documented.
- Review construction documents, final documents, and assigned design deliverables for
quality - related concerns, inconsistencies, omissions, or risk conditions.
- Ensure appropriate subject matter expert reviews are held, including reviews such as
geotechnical, concrete, envelope, and other discipline -specific reviews as required by the project.
- Perform geotechnical report review and advise senior quality staff or quality leadership of
critical information.
- Support transition from design phase into construction mobilization by confirming QIP
requirements, field quality expectations, testing needs, inspection requirements, required meetings, and documentation processes
- Construction Phase
- Conduct or support the construction Quality kick - off meeting.
- Participate in the selection and evaluation of independent testing agencies, develop
budgets, monitor scheduled activities, and coordinate reports, field activities, testing, and inspections for contracted agencies as applicable.
- Distribute third - party test results to appropriate design and Quality team members and file
records as required by the project.
- Perform testing when required for scheduled activities not covered by a testing agency or
subcontractor. - Finalize remaining quality risks with well - developed mitigation plans.
- Ensure all required preconstruction / preparatory meetings identified by the QIP are
scheduled, conducted, documented, and supported by defined quality standards and inspection procedures , in conjunction with the Project Manager and Superintendent .
- Conduct preconstruction/preparatory meetings in areas of expertise and participate in
other QIP - required meetings as appropriate.
- Ensure all first work in place / initial observations are scheduled and conducted and monitor
corrective measures through completion.
- Ensure follow - up site observations are conducted in cooperation with the Design Project
Manager, Construction Project Manager, and Superintendent.
- Perform assigned QA inspections, prepare reports, document deficiencies, and monitor
correction progress in coordination with subject matter experts, project leadership, and quality leadership.
- Perform QC checks during site visits, including verification of materials, compliance with
material storage and protection requirements, and confirmation that installed materials comply with contract documents.
- Monitor installation of high - risk building elements/systems including structural steel,
concrete, building envelope, waterproofing, roofing, MEP systems, mission critical infrastructure, and interior finishes.
- Notify the project team of quality findings, deficiencies, nonconforming conditions, risks,
errors, omissions, and conditions that may expose the company to cost, quality, schedule, or liability impacts.
- Prepare monthly summaries of assigned QIPs, identify trends, and participate in monthly
delivery group QIP meetings.
- Participate in QIP audits with the Quality Manager, Project Quality Manager, Regional
Manager, or Director of Quality as requested
- Deliver Quality training, presentations, or seminars as requested and applicable to role level,
including at least one annual training or presentation for coordinator - level roles and additional seminars / technical development for senior roles.
- Actively support development of Qualigrams, Best Practices, technical learning, and Quality
Team development as applicable to senior - level responsibilities.
- Closeout Phase
- Ensure, in cooperation with the Construction Project Manager and Superintendent, that
Haskell completion conferences, subcontractor completion conferences, or project closeout conferences are conducted and documented.
- Monitor that Architect / Engineer punch lists are created, tracked, completed, and
documented in accordance with the QIP.
- Perform the final QA punch list, document findings, and verify / document completion of
punch list items as required.
- Conduct or support a Lessons Learned meeting with the Project Director, Design Project
Manager, Construction Project Manager, Superintendent, and project team as applicable.
- Prepare and distribute the Lessons Learned document to the project team and Director of
Quality.
- Produce timely, concise, thorough, logically structured, and professionally written reports
for each responsible QIP activity.
- Support final documentation, deficiency closure, record filing, trend identification, and
communication of quality concerns to quality leadership.
- Elevated engagement/influence with clients, industry organizations, regulatory bodies, &
manufacturers.
- Demonstrated/evidence of elevated systems thinking, strategic planning, and proactive
problem -solving. Supervises others

Education & Years of Experience
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university or institution preferred. Five to seven years of progressively responsible construction experience required, including at least three years directly supporting Quality on commercial or industrial projects. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of nine years of directly related experience will be considered.
Qualifications

- Construction Quality Management - CQM, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers; American Concrete
Institute - ACI; International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants - IIBEC; and Certified Welding Inspector - CWI; Certified Quality Inspector (ASQ); Commissioning related certifications
- OSHA 30 - hour Construction Industry Outreach Training Program must be successfully completed
or completed within one year for applicable coordinator, field, and senior - level assignments.
- Professional development is expected annually, with a minimum of 16 hours for coordinator - level
responsibilities and 24 hours for senior - level responsibilities, as applicable
- Light Industrial, Food & Beverage, Manufacturing, Government/Military, Water/Wastewater,
Commercial Construction, Healthcare, Mission Critical/Data Center Facilities
- Ability to read, understand, and effectively interpret building construction documents,
specifications, submittals, design reports, testing reports, and associated technical documentation.
- Ability to support or conduct effective preconstruction / preparatory meetings that define quality
standards, inspection procedures, testing expectations, and project -specific quality requirements.
- Ability to inspect construction progress at scheduled intervals and perform quality observations,
QA inspections, QC checks, and field follow - up reviews.
- Ability to interface with project teams, design teams, clients' quality personnel, testing agencies,
subcontractors, and onsite Quality Control inspectors to promote compliance with testing, inspection, documentation, and corrective action requirements
- Ability to support development of quality risk identification, mitigation plans, technical reviews,
lessons learned, Qualigrams, best practices, seminars, and Quality Team technical development as applicable to role level.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare concise, thorough,
logically structured, and professionally written reports for QIP activities.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, team members may be required to visit alternate locations, and therefore must have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to do so.
