POSITION SUMMARY
This is a remote/hybrid position reporting through KEMRON's Marietta, Ohio operation. Candidates are not required to reside in Ohio. Travel to project sites is required based on project needs.

The Project Manager has responsibility for managing environmental and Military Munitions Response Program (MMRP) projects covering both investigation and remediation activities. The position supervises engineers, geologists/scientists, UXO personnel, field technicians, site supervisors, and craft labor in the course of project execution.

The Project Manager coordinates project teams and subcontractors, manages schedules and budgets, and serves as a primary point of contact for clients and regulators.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS OF POSITION
  • Manage/supervise engineers, scientists, and UXO personnel.
  • Manage/execute subcontracts, including teaming partners, laboratories, drillers, abatement/demolition contractors, injection contractors, and others.
  • Delegate work and assignments to team members based on expertise, work experience, and time constraints.
  • Review technical reports pertaining to site assessment, inspection, or remediation.
  • Coordinate/supervise investigation activities and remedial actions.
  • Possess knowledge of environmental regulations, including CERCLA/RCRA and MMRP.
  • Forecast Estimate to Complete based on incurred costs and remaining work activities.
  • Update burn schedules for field activities in conjunction with the Site Superintendent/Field Manager.
  • Interface with clients and regulators and serve as KEMRON's primary point of contact.
  • Track progress of multiple projects, including costs, using Microsoft Project software.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, track project costs, and invoice clients.
  • Prepare work plans and proposals for additional assessment or remediation work.
  • Maintain risk registers from estimates and provide recommendations for mitigation of risk.
  • Oversee performance of subcontractors.
  • Negotiate/resolve subcontractor disputes.
  • Coordinate field activities of subcontractors and field staff.
  • Participate in routine conference calls with QA/QC staff.
  • Monitor implementation of Quality Communication Forms.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or Geology preferred.
  • PE or PG registration preferred.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing environmental/MMRP investigation and remediation projects.
  • Ability to prepare and review written technical reports.
  • Ability to manage subcontractors and negotiate/resolve subcontractor disputes.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, track costs, forecast costs at completion, and prepare/review invoices.
  • Experience with Munitions Response QAPP and advanced geophysical classification required.
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER Certificate required.
  • Current 8-hour OSHA HAZWOPER annual refresher required.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to plan for and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics SL and SharePoint is a plus.
  • Positive and professional.
  • Organized and meticulous with details.
  • Self-motivated and efficient.
WORK CONTEXT/PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS
  • Must be able to work on a computer/laptop for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to travel to project jobsites.
  • Must be able to support up to one week in the field at a time during startup and execution of field activities to provide quality control and cost management.
  • Must be able to occasionally work outdoors in conditions that may include heat and humidity, rain, extreme cold, snow, and ice.
  • Possible exposure to dust, asphalt, and hazardous materials.
  • Must be able to pass an OSHA HAZWOPER physical exam and drug screening.
  • May work in an environment near moving vehicles and mechanical parts.
  • Must be able to work in full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respiratory protection that may include SCBA, APR, and SAR.
  • Must understand and follow KEMRON SOPs for specific tasks.
  • Must be able to travel to work/project sites and traverse all types of terrain, often on foot.
  • Must be able to assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of assigned tasks.
  • Must be able to move about to accomplish tasks or move between workstations within an office environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
