Position Summary

At STERIS, we help our Customers create a healthier and safer world by providing innovative healthcare and life science product and service solutions around the globe.

As Manager of the Packaging Engineering team, will provide direction/leadership to support business plan objectives. Will have responsibility for the development, implementation, and establishing maintenance standards for packaging lines. Responsible for managing packaging development related to new Product Development. Responsible for improving/maximizing packaging line efficiencies for all Consumable manufacturing plants.

What You'll Do as a Manager - Packaging Engineering
  • Leads the Packaging Engineering effort to meet the New Product Development timelines.
  • Responsible for the design, implementation, and analyses of time and costs required to bring new/reformulated products through to full production.
  • Responsible for research and testing of new technologies or processes appropriate for support of new product manufacture.
  • Responsible to work with plants on the analysis of manufacturing operations.
  • Identifies packaging changes designed to improve operational productivity, process yields, personnel safety, environmental aspects, or other packaging improvements.
  • Mentor junior contributors to promote individual growth.
  • Will assist plants specific packaging deficiencies through troubleshooting and implementation of corrective actions.
The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related Packaging degree required.
  • 8+ years experience in Packaging Operations or related area including 5+ years experience in Process Engineering, Process Validation, and/or batch chemical processing.
  • Experience working in an FDA controlled facility preferred.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Thorough understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices and familiarity with FDA regulations required.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.

Pay range for this opportunity is$124,737.50-$161,425.00.This position is eligible for bonus participation.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
