Duties and Responsibilities
CCGH Duties


  • This position provides overall program management to the Center for Community & Global Health.
  • This position assists in program development and implementation; assists with student/resident/fellow issues and communication; coordinates programming and requirements of local community engagement and international activities.
  • Facilitate Community and Global Health curriculum delivery for CCGH core programs: 1) Community and Global Health Honors Program, 2) Global Field Experience Grants, 3) SSOM International Electives, 4) International Student Exchange Program (Ghana), 5) Other CCGH Electives .
  • Track international travel program policies and procedures including pre-travel safety, health insurance, and orientation for all traveling medical students, residents and faculty.
  • Ensures implementation of the international travel program guidelines, including pre-travel safety, evacuation insurance, and orientation for all traveling medical students.
  • Coordinate international travel, for students, faculty, and staff engaged in service activities including travel insurance, visas and emergency contact information.
  • Manage international grant and elective reimbursement to participants.
  • Maintain active catalog of local, national, and international service opportunities overseen by program.
  • Manage and track international elective program for medical students, including orientation, application process, and post-rotation requirements.
  • Lead Honors program application process and program requirement tracking
  • Coordinate all details for seminar series, including arranging for speakers' accommodations, when necessary, advertising, coordination with other Schools and collaborators.
  • Marketing and communication including email, social media and website for promotion of departmental programs and initiatives.


Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Duties

The Program Manager will position diversity as a key driver of educational excellence, a diverse physician workforce, and ultimately equitable health care for all. They will orchestrate initiatives aligned with Stritch School of Medicine's Jesuit mission that specifically address diversity and inclusion. Working directly under the supervision of three assistant deans, the manager is responsible for the following.

  • Leverage institutional and diversity data and trends to maintain policies, programs, services, and resources to achieve and sustain the mission, goals and diversity interests of the school.
  • Ensure representation of different voices, especially those who are historically underrepresented and/or economically or educationally disadvantaged, in conversations and initiatives that influence the institution's operations.
  • Understand current legal and educational policies and practices and their implications to meet the school's mission, goals, and specific diversity interests.
  • Work with assistant deans to provide a range of formal and informal activities and programs that build capacity in others to increase their awareness of diversity, power, privilege, and the practice of inclusion.
  • Help develop programs and activities that affirm student identity, build community, and cultivate leadership, enabling all students to effectively work across communities.
  • Provide outreach to students promoting available programs, services, and other resources to meet the diverse needs of all applicants to student, resident, staff and faculty positions.
  • Support and plan diversity and mission-focused events for medical students, residents, faculty and community as directed by the assistant deans.
  • Assist in supporting student groups/organizations related to diversity and inclusion.
  • Implement metrics and systematically evaluate their work, using both qualitative and quantitative methods.

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field.
  • At least three to five years of related experience and/or training.
