Sentry Equipment is looking for a Regional Sales Manager to drive sales growth, strengthen channel partnerships, and develop lasting customer relationships within the Great Lakes/Upper Midwest region. This role is a great fit for a technically minded sales professional who enjoys creating territory strategy, developing manufacturer's representatives, and working across teams to solve customer challenges. As a Regional Sales Manager, you will manage both channel partner and direct-sales activity, identify new market opportunities, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver solutions that position Sentry Equipment for profitable growth.
What You'll Do
Drive Territory Growth
- Develop and execute an annual sales plan for assigned territories.
- Establish sales goals and product-line quotas, monitor progress, and take ownership of results.
- Manage direct-sales activity in territories without an assigned manufacturer's representative.
- Analyze sales performance, customer needs, pricing, and market potential to identify opportunities for growth.
Build Strong Channel Partnerships
- Train, support, manage, and evaluate manufacturer's representatives throughout the territory.
- Work with channel partners to establish goals and maintain accountability for performance.
- Coordinate support related to applications, quotations, product service, promotions, and customer concerns.
- Build effective relationships based on communication, responsiveness, and shared success.
Collaborate to Serve Customers
- Partner with Inside Sales, Proposal Management, Engineering, and other internal teams to develop competitive and profitable solutions.
- Work directly with end users to understand their applications and recommend effective solutions.
- Represent Sentry Equipment at industry trade shows and company-sponsored sales meetings.
- Conduct market research to identify emerging customer needs and potential new-product opportunities.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and supervision to sales or administrative team members as assigned.
What You Bring
- A bachelor's degree in engineering is preferred, although relevant experience may be considered.
- At least three years of technical sales experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Experience with both direct sales and manufacturer's representative or channel-based sales.
- Experience serving electric utility, industrial boiler, or process-market customers is preferred.
- Familiarity with water chemistry, analytical instrumentation, heat transfer, or gas, liquid, and solids processing.
- Strong communication, negotiation, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to train, motivate, and hold channel partners accountable.
- Strong organization, initiative, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM, and ERP systems.
- Willingness to travel approximately 40 to 50 percent.
