Summary:

Methode Electronics is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Strategy Intern to support key business initiatives that drive long-term growth, profitability, and competitive advantage. This role provides hands-on experience working alongside business and functional leaders to evaluate market opportunities, assess competitive landscapes, and develop strategic recommendations. The intern will conduct research, analyze quantitative and qualitative data, build business and financial models, and help develop presentations for leadership. This position offers valuable exposure to corporate strategy, business planning, market intelligence, and cross-functional decision-making within a global manufacturing organization. Candidates with strong analytical skills, business acumen, and the ability to leverage AI-powered tools to enhance research, modeling, and strategic insights will be particularly successful in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Market & competitive research - analyzing industry trends, competitor positioning, and market sizing to support strategic decisions
  • Data analysis - gathering and synthesizing quantitative/qualitative data to identify patterns, risks, and opportunities
  • Supporting strategic initiatives - assisting senior strategists or leadership on projects like market entry, M&A due diligence, growth planning, or operational improvements
  • Building models and frameworks - helping construct financial models, SWOT analyses, Porter's Five Forces, or other strategic frameworks
  • Presentation and reporting - creating slide decks, dashboards, and reports that communicate findings to stakeholders or executives
  • Cross-functional collaboration - working with finance, marketing, operations, or product teams to gather input and align on strategic recommendations
  • Ad hoc analysis - responding to leadership requests for quick-turnaround research or data pulls

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related business discipline.
  • Demonstrated academic excellence with coursework in finance, corporate strategy, business analysis, or related disciplines.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and develop actionable business insights.
  • Foundational understanding of financial statements, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling concepts.
  • Ability to apply structured problem-solving methodologies to evaluate ambiguous business challenges and develop practical recommendations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and financial modeling techniques.
  • Familiarity with data visualization and analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, or similar technologies is preferred.
  • Experience leveraging AI-powered tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar platforms to support market research, financial analysis, business modeling, content development, and process optimization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex analyses into concise business recommendations.
  • Comfortable presenting findings and interacting with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Highly curious, intellectually driven, and eager to learn in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Adaptable and capable of managing changing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
