Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated BIM Specialist to support CAD and Building Information Modeling (BIM) efforts across aerospace, industrial, and federal projects. Candidates with a strong electrical systems background are highly preferred, though complementary mechanical experience is also valued. This role will contribute to BIM implementation, help ensure compliance with federal and client standards, and support design coordination and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Support BIM project setup and execution using Revit and AutoCAD platforms.
- Serve as a CAD/BIM point of contact for aerospace/industrial and federal client projects.
- Follow client standards and help the design team adhere to them.
- Assist in developing and maintaining CAD/BIM tool palettes, templates, and execution plans based on client standards and requirements.
- Support BIM deliverables and resource coordination across a variety of projects.
- Conduct clash detection and interdisciplinary coordination, with a particular focus on electrical systems (mechanical coordination also included).
- Provide production support to project teams.
- Collaborate with IT and stakeholders to help optimize BIM workflows and tools.
- Stay current on emerging BIM technologies and tools.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in BIM/CAD, preferably in aerospace, industrial, federal, or infrastructure projects. Electrical systems experience is strongly preferred; mechanical systems exposure is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 360, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and related platforms.
- Strongly preferred: working knowledge of electrical design coordination, with mechanical systems exposure a plus.
- Preferred Certifications: Autodesk Certified Professional in Revit or AutoCAD.
- Education: High school diploma or associate degree in a relevant field.
- Knowledge: Understanding of AutoCAD, Revit, BIM standards (IFC, COBie), parametric modeling, and construction methodologies.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication and problem-solving abilities. Skilled at cross-team collaboration, managing multiple tasks, and meeting deadlines.
Preferred Attributes
- Electrical systems design coordination experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with aerospace, industrial, and federal project workflows and compliance.
- Mechanical systems exposure a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple fast-paced projects under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Newforma.
- Certificate of Management - Building Information Modeling is a plus.
