R&D Systems Engineering Technician

Location: Waltham, MA

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Pay Rate: $44.00 per hour

Are you a hands-on technical professional with experience in product testing, engineering support, or laboratory environments? We are seeking an R&D Systems Engineering Technician to support the development and testing of innovative medical device technologies. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, working with advanced testing equipment, and collaborating with engineering teams in a fast-paced research and development environment.

Job Duties

• Perform product verification, validation, and system testing activities.
• Set up and operate laboratory equipment, test fixtures, and computer-controlled test systems.
• Conduct hands-on testing of electro-mechanical products and assemblies.
• Collect, analyze, and document test data and results.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and support root cause investigations.
• Prepare technical reports and maintain accurate documentation.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety requirements, and laboratory procedures.
• Maintain laboratory organization, equipment readiness, and testing materials.

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical education in engineering technology, electronics, mechatronics, or a related field preferred.

Experience Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in product testing, engineering support, medical devices, or another regulated industry.
• Experience with laboratory instrumentation, data acquisition systems, and product verification testing.
• Familiarity with Linux-based systems and command-line tools preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Ability to work in a laboratory and engineering environment.
• Frequent use of computers, testing equipment, and precision tools.
• Ability to perform detailed assembly, inspection, and testing tasks.
• Must be able to maintain focus on precise, detail-oriented work.
