Position Summary
The Schlaeger Lab is seeking a highly motivated, intelligent, and detail-oriented individual to join our human stem cell biology laboratory. We are looking for a candidate who is a quick learner, capable of acquiring new skills efficiently, and thrives in a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce/maintain/expand/bank/QC hiPSCs (including transduction, genome editing)
  • Perform cellular experiment and analyses using techniques such as in vitro differentiation, in vivo assays, immunostaining, flow cytometry, DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, and other molecular biology methods
  • Operate and maintain laboratory instruments including flow cytometers, automated fluorescence microscopes, plate washers, plate readers, and liquid handling robotics.
  • Manage inventory by monitoring, ordering, and organizing supplies.
  • Prepare media and stock solutions for experiments.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional and federal guidelines regarding health, safety, and animal use regulations.
  • Develop research figures and protocols.
  • Mentor and instruct laboratory techniques.
  • Present research findings during lab meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a closely related field required; Master's degree preferred.
Experience:
  • Extensive hands-on undergraduate research lab experience highly preferred.
  • Willingness to work with animals and human tissues.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in following multi-step protocols and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team in a goal-focused environment.
  • Commitment to a two-year duration in this role.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
