Our award-winning culture embraces a bold vision of where technology can take us and a passion for tackling challenging problems with industry-first solutions. We believe that when people feel a sense of belonging, they can be more creative, innovative, and thrive at all points in their careers.

When engineers run into a challenging design or simulation problem, they need someone who can understand their workflow and help them find a way forward. As an EDA Customer Success Application Engineer, you'll work directly with customers using Keysight's electronic design software, including Advanced Design System (ADS). You'll investigate technical questions, reproduce and troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with our R&D teams when a problem calls for a deeper solution. Your work will help customers make progress with the designs and technologies they're bringing to life.

We prefer candidates based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, but will also consider candidates in other approved U.S. locations within the Central or Mountain time zones. This helps the team support customers during their working hours.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with customers to understand their design goals, EDA workflows, and the technical issues affecting their progress.
  • Reproduce and troubleshoot problems in Keysight EDA tools, including schematics, layouts, simulations, and design flows; identify likely causes and guide issues toward resolution.
  • Take ownership of customer support cases, communicate findings and next steps clearly, and follow through while balancing multiple priorities.
  • Collaborate with teammates, R&D, and other technical groups to investigate complex issues and bring the right expertise to the customer.
  • Help customers use relevant tool features and workflows more effectively, including capabilities that support their evolving design needs.
  • Document customer interactions and technical solutions and create clear guidance or knowledge articles that customers and colleagues can use.
  • Develop and deliver technical training or presentations that help customers build confidence with Keysight EDA tools.
  • Share recurring issues and customer feedback with product and support teams to help improve the tools and the support experience.
  • Continue building your expertise in Keysight's EDA products, customer applications, and new ways of working, including tools that improve support effectiveness.

Qualifications

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field, plus 5 or more years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Substantial hands-on experience using EDA tools for electronic design, simulation, or design flow development. Experience using schematics and layouts in Keysight Advanced Design System (ADS) is especially valuable.
  • Technical background in at least one relevant area, such as RF or microwave design, RFIC design, high-speed digital design, or electromagnetic simulation.
  • Ability to investigate complex technical problems, reproduce issues, identify causes, and work toward resolution with persistence and sound judgment.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical findings and next steps to engineers with different levels of familiarity with a tool.
  • Ability to work independently, learn new tools and applications, collaborate with technical colleagues, and follow through on multiple customer issues.
  • U.S. person status is required due to the nature of certain customer environments and project requirements.

Preferred qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Keysight ADS or other Keysight EDA tools, such as SystemVue, Genesys, or GoldenGate.
  • Experience supporting engineering customers through applications engineering, EDA technical support, training, or design flow enablement.
  • Experience delivering technical training, presentations, or written guidance.
  • Experience with Python, or an interest in learning it to support technical work.
