Position summary

The Law Student Recruiting Assistant will assist law student and entry-level recruitment, hiring and integration for the Chicago office. This assistant will report to the Law Student Recruiting Specialist in our Chicago office and assist with strategic talent development initiatives with the broader Attorney Recruiting & Integration Department.

Position responsibilities

  • Assist with all aspects of the summer associate program and entry-level hiring process.
  • Provide support in coordination of the Summer Associate Program, including but not limited to orientation, training, social events, assignment tracking, and summer associate file preparation for multiple offices.
  • Support calendar management for summer program, including but not limited to events and training.
  • Accurately input and/or monitor evaluation information in recruitment database.
  • Diligently update candidate information and statuses within recruitment database on an on-going basis.
  • Route necessary applicant information and data to appropriate Attorney Recruiting & Integration team members.
  • Help update law student recruiting related data and materials.
  • Prepare, update, and send interview schedules, greet candidates, solicit feedback on candidates, and prepare electronic interview files.
  • Prepare surveys, maintain information in charts, and provide statistical hiring data to Attorney Recruiting & Integration team as requested.
  • Provide assistance in planning and coordinating in-person events and receptions.
  • Assist with conference room scheduling and coordinating related services/materials for new associate onboarding and orientation.
  • Process all candidate and incoming associate expense reimbursements.
  • Assist with GPA calculations for candidate files.
  • Assist with special firm wide projects and provide administrative support as needed.

Experience, skills, and qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 6+ months of recruiting or administrative professional experience in a law firm or professional client service environment required.
  • Must live within a commutable distance to a firm office with the ability to come into the office 3-4 days per week with flexibility for 5 days per week based on department and office needs.
  • Must be available to work outside regularly scheduled hours during peak recruiting season, the summer program, and as business needs.
  • Prior recruiting experience is ideal; legal recruiting experience is preferred.
  • Experience working with an Applicant Tracking System is preferred.
  • Technology savvy, resourceful, ability to quickly learn new technologies, and strong PC skills to include the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Must possess a very high level of attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of work with accuracy and a strong sense of urgency.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate in-person, video, e-mail and telephone to provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of personnel and project a strong and positive image of the firm.
  • Ability to interact and function as part of a team; including cooperation, adaptability, flexibility, courtesy, and acceptance of feedback to foster smooth and efficient processing of workflow

Salary

Illinois based applicants only: The target annual salary range for this role is currently $58,000 - $63,000 based on a regular, full-time schedule. The amount of compensation offered will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications, market data and internal equity. Total compensation includes a comprehensive healthcare benefits package, yearly retirement contribution, and may include an annual discretionary merit bonus.
