About the Opportunity:
We are seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to support inventory management, material control, warehouse operations, and supply chain processes within Lam Research's Etch Operations organization. In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, resolving discrepancies, supporting material requests, and ensuring the integrity of inventory management systems while working closely with engineering, supply chain, logistics, and quality teams.

What You'll Do:
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and data integrity within inventory management systems.
  • Receive, store, track, and distribute materials throughout warehouse and laboratory operations.
  • Manage inventory requests submitted by Lab Service Engineers and Product Engineers.
  • Monitor inventory dashboards and fulfill material requests in a timely manner.
  • Pick, stage, and prepare materials for distribution and pickup.
  • Maintain warehouse organization and cleanliness standards.
  • Perform cycle counts, inventory audits, and annual physical inventory activities.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies, variances, and transaction errors.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Coordinate material transfers, receipts, issues, and inventory movements.
  • Reconcile shipping discrepancies with suppliers, buyers, and logistics partners.
  • Process RMAs, NCIs, scrap transactions, returns-to-stock, off-site storage activities, and cleaning vendor shipments.
  • Support wafer inventory management activities, including reservation orders, audits, receiving, wafer reclaim processes, and safeguarding customer intellectual property.
  • Assist with 5S initiatives, inventory reduction projects, material purges, and process improvement activities.
  • Partner with Quality, Supply Chain, Distribution, Logistics, and Engineering teams to ensure compliance with inventory control procedures.
Job Requirements
What You'll Bring:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ year of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, material management, purchasing, logistics, or supply chain support.
  • 1+ year of experience maintaining inventory records and performing inventory transactions.
  • 1+ year of experience utilizing inventory management systems, warehouse management systems, or ERP platforms.
  • 1+ year of experience working with Vertical Lift Modules (VLMs), particularly Kardex or Snap-on systems.
  • 1+ year of experience using SAP for inventory management, material transactions, or warehouse operations.
  • Typing proficiency of approximately 50 WPM or greater.
  • Proficiency with 10-key data entry.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform warehouse activities for extended periods.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude and data-entry accuracy.
  • Ability to confidently make decisions and solve problems independently in new situations.
  • Experience conducting root-cause investigations and implementing process improvements.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to inventory management.
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement, 5S, or warehouse optimization projects.
  • Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment and contribute positively to team culture.
Additional Information:
  • Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check.
  • Overtime: May be required based on operational needs.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform warehouse-related activities throughout the shift.
  • Shift: Regular Swing Shift, Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM PST.
  • Top Skills: Independent decision-making, attention to detail, team collaboration, inventory management, VLM experience, and problem-solving.
