Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Geologist or Environmental Scientist with 1-5 years of experience to join our team in Hunt Valley, Maryland and support environmental projects throughout the United States. This position will primarily support Munitions Response Program projects and may provide opportunities to serve as a Task Manager or Deputy Project Manager, depending on experience and qualifications.

The successful candidate will support a variety of project activities, including field investigations, environmental sampling, geophysical data collection, technical report preparation, and project management support. This role offers a balance of field and office responsibilities, exposure to challenging environmental projects, and excellent opportunities for professional development and career growth.


Responsibilities


  • Assist senior project managers with planning, coordination, and execution of environmental investigations and munitions response projects.
  • Support field activities, including environmental media sampling, site inspections, geophysical surveys, and data collection.
  • Collect, document, evaluate, and interpret field data in accordance with project requirements and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Prepare technical reports, work plans, field documentation, and project deliverables.
  • Coordinate with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to support successful project execution.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to health and safety requirements, quality standards, and environmental compliance.
  • Provide project administration and task management support as experience and project needs dictate.


Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Geophysics, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 1-5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience working in outdoor field environments and collecting environmental data.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, includingWord, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong technical writing, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to project sites as needed.

Note: This position requires specific driving duties. You must be able to pass a motor vehicle records check required by our insurer.


Desired Qualifications


  • Experience supporting environmental sampling programs, MMRP projects, or CERCLA investigations/remediation projects.
  • Experience preparing technical reports, work plans, and other project documentation.
  • Experience using GIS software, including ArcGIS or equivalent platforms.
  • Current40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.
  • CurrentFirst Aid/CPR certification.
  • Experience coordinating and overseeing field crews and subcontractors.

Pay Range
$55,000 — $75,000 USD

The EA pay range for this position is intended as a general guideline and does not guarantee specific compensation or salary. Factors considered when making an offer include job responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, alignment with market data, and compliance with federal and state laws.
