The School and Community Experiences, in the College of Education, at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, seeks a part-time Clinical Instructor to serve as direct supervisors of teacher candidates during their field experiences. This part-time position will be a half-time, fifty-percent appointment responsible for supervising up to ten clinicals. Clinical supervisors make classroom observations of the student teachers and offer support and guidance to the cooperating teachers. The supervisor is also the major communication link between the placement school and the College of Education. Supervisors will meet regularly with School and Community Experiences (SCE) staff and have frequent communications with the methods instructors.
Minimum Requirements:
Salary: These positions will be filled each semester based on student enrollments and supervision needs for the program. These positions are hired between zero and 80% time and will not include benefits. Part-time clinical instructors are hired to supervise at a variable rate per student for each semester worked. Variability depends upon observation vs. student teachers and grade or specialty ranging from $560 to $1,120 per student per semester.
