Employees at this level solve more complex problems in engineering areas of specialization with limited supervision. They effectively apply fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is progressing complex and varied. Responsibilities: ONS is seeking a Component Engineer for the Maintenance Support Engineer Team. This position will manage assigned mechanical components to ensure a high level of equipment reliability and compliance with existing programs and commitments. Ideal candidate will have experience and expertise in Turbine/Generator operation, support systems, and secondary side plant operation. This position will report to the Maintenance Support Engineering Manager and have the following duties for assigned components:
Basic / Required Qualifications: Nuclear Engineer III - Nuclear Engineer III is the intermediate level of the Engineering classification hierarchy. Employees at this level solve more complex problems in engineering areas of specialization with general supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with greater independence. They effectively apply fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is fairly complex and varied.
Senior Nuclear Engineer - Senior Nuclear Engineer is the career/senior level of the Engineering classification hierarchy. Employees at this level manage work in engineering areas of specialization, with minimal supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and to have the ability to work independently, with guidance limited to unusual or complex projects or issues. They are fully competent in use of concepts and procedures. They identify problems, develop solutions and take actions to resolve. Senior Engineer represents a level at which career may stabilize for many years.
