This position is based in a drop-in center for youth ages 12-25 from diverse backgrounds and experiences. We are seeking a dynamic individual who is passionate about working with youth and young adults facing significant challenges. This individual works closely with their direct supervisor, staff, and clients to support participant success, skill development, and pathways to self-sufficiency.

The Youth Development Specialist is responsible for engaging youth in workforce development, education, digital literacy, and life skills programming. This role facilitates structured, skill-based learning, including Northstar Digital Literacy classes and life skills workshops focused on areas such as communication, financial literacy, career exploration, independent living, and future planning. The Specialist works as part of a multidisciplinary team to meet youth where they are, remove barriers, and promote dignity, respect, and long-term success.

Provide participant support as needed, including intake, assessment, goal planning, follow-up, and ongoing engagement.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation related to participant progress and program activities in required data systems.

Minimum of Associates degree with relevant work experience. Bachelors degree in education, human services, or a related field preferred. Must have demonstrated experience working with youth and/or young adults, facilitating educational or life skills programming, and supporting youth development. Experience with workforce development, digital literacy, community outreach, or workshop facilitation preferred.
