Location: 150 SE 17th St, Suite 802, Ocala, FL 34471

Training Location: 150 SE 17th St and 9401 SW Hwy 200, Suite 503, Ocala, FL

Duration: 3 months

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM-3:00 PM


Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist II to support a Labcorp Patient Service Center (PSC) in Ocala, FL. The phlebotomist will be responsible for performing blood draws, specimen processing, and providing excellent patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment.

The position will work with patients of all ages and requires strong venipuncture skills, attention to detail, general computer knowledge, and excellent interpersonal skills.

The location performs approximately 35+ blood draws per day, and the phlebotomist will be part of a team of approximately four employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and blood collection from patients of all ages.
  • Collect, label, process, and prepare specimens according to established procedures.
  • Ensure accurate patient identification and specimen labeling.
  • Handle and process specimens while maintaining specimen integrity.
  • Enter and update patient information using laboratory/computer systems.
  • Provide professional, courteous, and patient-focused service.
  • Answer patient questions and assist with general laboratory-related inquiries.
  • Follow established laboratory procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform other phlebotomy and laboratory duties as assigned.
  • Stand for extended periods and work efficiently in a busy patient service center.
  • Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 2 years of phlebotomy experience.
  • Strong hands-on venipuncture experience.
  • Experience drawing patients of different ages.
  • Experience with specimen processing and handling.
  • General computer knowledge.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patient-focused approach with professional customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to stand for most of the workday.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of phlebotomy experience.
  • Experience working in a Patient Service Center, laboratory, hospital, or similar healthcare setting.
  • Experience handling approximately 35+ patient draws per day.
  • Experience working with patients across all age groups.

  • Patients of all ages
  • Phlebotomist will be standing for most of the workday
  • Approximately 4-6 weeks of training at the beginning of the assignment
  • Training will take place at both Ocala locations as required



Vaccination Requirement

  • TB vaccination/testing is required.
  • The requisition does not indicate Hepatitis B, MMR, Tdap, Flu, Varicella, or COVID-19 as required.
