Job Title: Float Phlebotomist II

Location: Itasca, IL - 150 Spring Lake Drive

Position Type: Contract to Possible Conversion

Duration: 3+ months

Schedule: Candidates must be flexible to work between 6:00 AM and 7:30 PM, depending on the location being covered. Saturday availability from 8:00 AM-12:00 PM is also required.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Phlebotomist II to support multiple Patient Service Center locations throughout the greater Chicago area. This is a float position, requiring the ability to travel across a large territory and work at different locations based on business needs.

The ideal candidate will have 3-4+ years of hands-on phlebotomy experience and be comfortable drawing blood from patients across a wide age range, from neonatal to geriatric. The selected candidate should be fully proficient in phlebotomy techniques, as training on basic blood-drawing skills will not be provided.

Training will be provided on applicable computer systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities

Perform venipuncture and blood collection procedures safely and accurately.

Collect specimens from patients across all age groups, including neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.

Follow established specimen collection, labeling, handling, and processing procedures.

Provide professional and compassionate patient service.

Adapt to different Patient Service Center environments and workflows.

Float between multiple locations based on operational needs.

Maintain accurate patient and specimen information.

Follow all applicable safety, infection-control, and compliance procedures.

Utilize computer systems and electronic systems for required documentation and processing.

Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality.

Follow all company policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

3-4+ years of phlebotomy experience preferred/required for this assignment

Strong hands-on venipuncture skills

Experience drawing patients across a broad age range, from neonatal to geriatric

Ability to work independently with minimal phlebotomy training

Strong communication and patient-service skills

Reliable attendance and punctuality

Ability to work a flexible schedule between 6:00 AM and 7:30 PM

Saturday availability from 8:00 AM-12:00 PM

Reliable transportation due to the extensive float territory

Compliance Requirements

Hepatitis B

TB

MMR

Tdap

Hepatitis B titer will be completed; candidates may decline vaccination or receive vaccination as applicable.

Color vision screening required

Negative THC screening required

Flu and COVID vaccinations are not required.
