Mid-Level Archaeologist

LAUKOA is seeking a Mid-level Archaeologist for the cultural resources team. The ideal candidate will work closely with Cultural Resources Program Manager to support the client.

Responsibilities:



  • Support LAUKOA's Cultural Resources staff with project management, specifically the contracts we hold for cultural resources monitoring
  • Author, or co-author cultural resources reports
  • Supervise field staff
  • Provide logistic support for monitoring projects
  • Review of cultural resources reports
  • Communication and coordination with LAUKOA's senior members
  • Provide support with business development
  • Manage projects within the cultural resources program which include

    • Preparation of monthly invoices
    • Communication with and oversight of monitoring staff
    • Logistics support
    • Budgetary oversight


  • Other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications



  • B.A./B.S. in Anthropology, Archaeology or closely related field.
  • 4+ years of relevant archaeological experience or professional internships.
  • Ability to identify historical and prehistoric artifacts and features.
  • Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills; experience recording/writing technical data and reports a plus.
  • Detail-oriented and hands-on troubleshooting/problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently as well as with supervision.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations including but not limited to the NHPA, NEPA, ARPA and NAGPRA.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Able to pass a federal and state background check for project-based assignments.


Preferred Qualifications



  • M.A./M.S. in Anthropology, Archaeology or closely related field.
  • Experience providing cultural resources monitoring in California, Arizona, New Mexico and/or Texas
  • Familiarity with Customs and Border Protections Border Barrier operations


This is a full time, salaried position

Salary - Starts at $70,000 annually
