NP, Nurse Practitioner/PA, Physician Assistant - GI

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Inpatient Gastroenterology team in Shreveport, LA. This position works collaboratively with gastroenterologists and hospitalists to provide high-quality care for hospitalized patients with a variety of gastrointestinal conditions.

The APP will play an important role in supporting the inpatient GI service, particularly while physicians are performing procedures, by assisting with patient rounding, follow-up visits, and ongoing management of GI patients.

• Perform inpatient rounding and follow-up visits for GI patients
• Evaluate and manage hospitalized patients with acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions
• Support the GI service while physicians are performing procedures
• Work closely with gastroenterologists, hospitalists, nursing staff, and other members of the care team
• Order and interpret laboratory studies, imaging, and other diagnostic testing
• Assist with treatment planning and ongoing patient management
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR

• Current Louisiana license or eligibility for licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)
• Previous Gastroenterology experience preferred
• Previous inpatient or hospital-based experience preferred
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to work collaboratively in a hospital environment
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
