Description Job Summary We are seeking a confident and highly motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Hematology/Oncology team in Shreveport, LA. This is a fast-paced position offering a combination of outpatient oncology clinic and inpatient rounding, working closely with an experienced team of physicians and advanced practice providers. The APP will also have the opportunity to help support and develop a High-Risk Breast Clinic, providing care and ongoing surveillance for patients at increased risk for breast cancer. Key Responsibilities Work collaboratively with Hematology/Oncology physicians in a busy outpatient clinic Evaluate and manage patients with a variety of hematologic and oncologic conditions Participate in rotating inpatient hospital coverage and rounding Provide care for patients through the High-Risk Breast Clinic Monitor treatment plans and help ensure patients are progressing appropriately through therapy Assist with oversight and follow-up of patients receiving infusion therapy Order and interpret laboratory studies, imaging, and other diagnostic testing Provide patient and family education throughout diagnosis and treatment Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, infusion teams, and other members of the care team Practice Highlights Established team of 6 physicians and 2 Advanced Practice Providers Highly collaborative model where patients are evaluated by the care team and physician Mix of outpatient clinic and inpatient responsibilities Fast-paced, high-volume practice with the potential to see up to 35 patients per day Clinic is conveniently connected to the hospital by a walkway Opportunity to participate in the development and growth of a High-Risk Breast Clinic Strong, experienced team committed to providing compassionate care to a complex oncology population Qualifications Current Louisiana license or eligibility for licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA) Previous Hematology/Oncology experience preferred Strong clinical judgment and confidence managing medically complex patients Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient-care skills Comfortable caring for patients with serious and complex illnesses throughout the continuum of cancer care Schedule & Compensation Full-time position Typical schedule approximately 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Rotating clinic and inpatient responsibilities Fridays typically consist of a lighter patient schedule with a focus on infusion support and select High-Risk Breast Clinic patients Competitive compensation based on experience Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, malpractice coverage, PTO, CME allowance, and a 403(b) retirement plan with employer match
