Project Manager

Roadtex
United States, Indiana, Greenfield
Sep 24, 2026

Roadtex Transportation has become a leader in the nationwide LTL industry, specializing in transporting time and temperature-sensitive products. We handle refrigerated and LTL needs by leveraging no sailing schedules, our nationwide network of 32 strategically placed temperature-controlled facilities, our state-of-the-art tracking, and our specialized equipment and warehousing capabilities. In 2022, Roadtex was acquired by Echo Global Logistics. The acquisition brings a truckload brokerage and expanded transportation management solutions to Roadtex's customers while providing Echo with our national warehouse footprint and advanced temperature-controlled transportation solutions.

Roadtex Warehouse Services operates a national network of food-grade, temperature-controlled warehouses and is building a more consistent, scalable operating model as it grows. The Project Manager will help turn that ambition into results by leading high-impact initiatives across operations, client service, technology, finance, quality, and other support functions, and by running the project management office that governs how that work gets done.

This is a visible role with direct exposure to executive leadership, suited to an experienced PM who can bring clarity to complex work, influence leaders without direct authority, and move projects from concept through adoption. Roughly two-thirds of the role is program delivery, with assignments spanning client implementations, warehouse and repack operations, systems, facilities, and business transformation. The remaining third is PMO operations: owning the intake, governance, and standards that keep the portfolio on track. The Project Manager owns delivery discipline; business leaders remain accountable for operating results.

Key Responsibilities

Program Delivery

  • Turn business priorities into clear project scopes, plans, milestones, resource needs, budgets, and measurable outcomes.
  • Lead multiple concurrent initiatives, managing risks, issues, scope changes, and leadership escalations.
  • Coordinate work across departments, sites, clients, and vendors; surface dependencies and drive timely decisions.
  • Coordinate operational readiness, testing, training, launch, adoption, and handoff to the teams that will sustain the change.
  • Ensure projects account for food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, partnering with FSQA & EHS on change control where needed.

PMO Operations and Governance

  • Operate the division's PMO governance cadence, including project intake, stage-gate reviews, portfolio status reporting, and the weekly leadership review.
  • Run gate reviews and recommend go, hold, or stop decisions to sponsors; require re-baselining when scope, cost, or timeline changes materially.
  • Give sponsors and senior leaders a clear view of portfolio progress, decisions needed, and barriers to delivery.
  • Maintain and improve PMO standards, templates, and the PMO playbook so project execution is consistent across sites and functions.
  • Coach site and functional leaders on project discipline and serve as the escalation point for projects that fall off standard.
  • Track results against expected benefits and capture lessons that improve future execution.
  • Consistently apply stage-gate discipline across all active projects in the portfolio.
  • Track benefits through delivery and post-launch of every approved initiative and assist to ensure each has a defined business case.
  • Senior leadership has a reliable, single view of portfolio status, risks, and decisions needed.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years leading cross-functional projects, including 3+ years in a 3PL, warehousing, distribution, or fulfillment environment.
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex initiatives across multiple functions, sites, clients, or vendors.
  • Experience operating or improving a PMO, portfolio governance process, or stage-gate framework.
  • Experience delivering projects in food-grade, cold chain, or GFSI-certified environments (FSSC 22000, SQF, BRC) strongly preferred.
  • PMP certification preferred; Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher preferred.
  • Strong judgment, facilitation, financial tracking, risk management, and executive communication skills.
  • Proficiency with project management platforms such as Microsoft Planner/Project, Smartsheet, or Monday.com, or Asana.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, engineering, or a related field preferred.

Working Conditions

Work spans office and warehouse environments. Must follow GMP, food safety, and PPE requirements while on the warehouse floor. Travel to operating sites up to 20%, with occasional schedule flexibility during launches or critical milestones.
