We are inspired by our purpose of Enabling Engineering Breakthrough that Lead to a Better Tomorrow. The fabrication scheduler will review demand triggers to issue jobs in support of production needs. This role will work closely with other schedulers to optimize the kanban system, while prioritizing and expediting key components out of CNC and injection molding departments to support assembly. Your Main Responsibilities: Determine assembly priorities by utilizing PDN systems and tools to meet customer demand * Support cross-functional activities with buyers, internal manufacturing, sales, and shipping/receiving teams to ensure a smooth supply chain *Primary contact for matters regarding fabrication schedule status or changes * Communicate potential shortages to production schedulers, customer service, and operations * Complete regular optimization of machine kanban loops for maximum manufacturing efficiency while maintaining desired inventory levels for assembly * Perform capacity and material availability analysis to assist with labor and overtime decisions * Participate in meetings to identify any supply risks and recommend actions to mitigate * Apply continuous improvement techniques and methods to internal processes and systems * Evaluate, recommend, and implement changes to the overall fabrication planning process consistent with continuous improvement goals * May lead or be assigned to a special project team * Share functional knowledge with others through training and mentorship opportunities * Actively participate in LEAN and Cost Reduction Programs * Focus on PDN metrics including (but not limited to) safety, customer on-time delivery, supplier OTIF, inventory and monitor other supporting metrics as appropriate * Utilize electronic kanban system (KanbanBox) to manage and audit daily fabrication runs, work closely with internal teams to align data and prioritize components that most effectively support assembly needs We are looking for talent with: * Minimum of 1 to 3 years' experience in operations, production planning/scheduling or inventory * 4-year college degree in supply chain, business, or engineering * Certification preferred APICS CPIM, CSCP, or CPSM * Possess high level analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper automation opportunities * Must have intermediate to advanced computer skills, especially Excel, to analyze data and make recommendations * Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external stakeholders * Must be an innovator and embrace LEAN enterprises principles and practices * Good organization skills and detail oriented * SAP experience a plus * Basic kanban knowledge required * Basic problem solving and experience with Lean Tools/Kaizen Pay, Benefits, Work Schedule Competitive Compensation
