The Buyer - Outside Processing will be responsible for managing all aspects of outside processing and reviewing demand triggers to issue jobs in support of production needs. This role will prioritize and expedite supplier orders, work closely with production schedulers, internal fabrication team, and other PDN location teams to minimize assembly shortages. This role will also be responsible for outside process PO management, report generation, and other assorted tasks.

Your Main Responsibilities:

  • Complete daily Outside Processing tasks

  • Coordinate with Buyers and Fabrication to ensure component availability for outside processing

  • Act as primary contact for matters regarding outside processing PO creation and maintenance (i.e., enter notes, enter tracking information, update delivery dates, etc.)

  • Communicate potential shortages to production scheduler, customer service, and operations

  • Participate in meetings to identify any supply risks and recommend actions to mitigate

  • Generate various reports as needed

  • Allocate parts to customer and/or interplant orders

  • Focus on Parker metrics, including (but not limited to) safety, customer on-time delivery, supplier OTIF, inventory

  • Identify continuous improvement actions and drive implementation

  • Interact with other functional areas such as quality and engineering

  • Other assorted tasks as needed

We are looking for talent with:

  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years' experience in supply chain, production planning/scheduling, inventory or operations

  • Focus on outside process (a.k.a. subcontractor vendor) is a plus

  • Basic computer skills with Excel (experience with spreadsheets), web site navigation, email/outlook

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Basic problem solving and experience with Lean Tools/Kaizen

  • Good organization skills, and detail oriented

  • SAP and kanban experience a plus
