At RWJBarnabas Health, MRI Technologists perform diagnostic magnetic resonance imaging procedures within the scope defined by regulatory and departmental quality standards. They are responsible for identifying and reporting safety concerns, including hazardous environments and medical errors, while ensuring exceptional patient care and imaging quality.

• Address patient and medical staff concerns with professionalism and compassion.
• Thrive in a hands-on environment, assisting patients to and from wheelchairs, stretchers, and MRI tables.
• Take pride in supporting the orientation and training of department and hospital personnel.
• Are comfortable assisting physicians with the administration of contrast media during MRI procedures.
• Value maintaining equipment, supplies, and accessories to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Have a keen attention to detail when reviewing physician orders, requisitions, and special instructions.
• Demonstrate strong anatomical positioning skills to consistently produce high-quality diagnostic images.
• Communicate effectively with patients by explaining procedures and exam timelines in an age-appropriate manner.
• Proactively identify challenges, communicate concerns, and contribute solutions to improve patient care and workflow.
• Enjoy caring for diverse patient populations, from neonatal through geriatric.
• Can confidently position patients and apply immobilization devices when necessary.
• Remain calm under pressure and can recognize emergency situations while initiating appropriate code procedures.
• Are committed to maintaining a safe environment by promptly reporting hazards, safety concerns, and medical errors.

• Graduate of a Trade/Vocational Program in Radiologic Technology.
• 1-3 years of general radiology experience.
• Active New Jersey Radiologic Technologist License.
• ARRT certification or ARMRIT certification.
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.

• Experienced MRI Technologist with strong patient care and communication skills.
• Committed to patient safety and quality imaging standards.
• Comfortable working with patients across all age groups.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Strong team player with excellent problem-solving abilities.
