Position Title: Industrial Maintenance / Ammonia Refrigeration Technician
Wage: $38.85/hour + $1.00/hour shift differential Shift: 3rd Hours: 10:00pm-6:00am We are seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance / Ammonia Refrigeration Technician to support refrigeration, facility, and production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in Franklin, WI. This direct hire position requires hands-on ammonia refrigeration experience along with strong mechanical troubleshooting and preventive maintenance skills. Industrial Maintenance / Ammonia Refrigeration Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Schedule and perform routine preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on refrigeration, facility, and production equipment - Troubleshoot and repair ammonia refrigeration systems, working with outside contractors as needed - Perform maintenance on HVAC, water heating, boiler, and condenser water chemical systems - Complete daily, weekly, monthly, and annual refrigeration system, facility, and building inspections - Maintain accurate refrigeration logs and maintenance records, including labor, materials, and parts - Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns using manufacturer manuals, mechanical drawings, and electrical diagrams - Perform pump rebuilds, sensor calibrations, PMs, and equipment repairs - Utilize CMMS and maintenance software to complete and document assigned work orders - Operate forklifts, aerial platforms, and other material-handling equipment as needed - Maintain clean and organized refrigeration engine rooms, maintenance shops, and chemical/parts storage areas - Follow LOTO, NFPA 70E, SOPs, GMPs, food safety, quality, and workplace safety requirements - Participate in required training, shift meetings, and safety programs - Work occasional weekends and holidays based on business needs Industrial Maintenance / Ammonia Refrigeration Technician Requirements: - Ammonia Refrigeration Certification required - Hands-on experience working with ammonia refrigeration systems - 2+ years of relevant industrial maintenance experience; food or dairy manufacturing experience preferred - High school diploma or GED required - Associate degree in Mechanical, HVAC, or related field is preferred - Strong mechanical troubleshooting and preventive maintenance experience - Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical diagrams, process drawings, and equipment manuals - Basic electrical knowledge, including NFPA 70E requirements - HMI/PLC troubleshooting skills - Experience with process instrumentation and controls preferred - Experience using CMMS, Microsoft Office, and maintenance/manufacturing software - Ability to operate material-handling equipment and perform pump rebuilds, sensor calibrations, and PMs - Ability to work in cold environments and around moving equipment - Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and regularly stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb - Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays as needed Benefits: Excellent benefits package and career development opportunities QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
