Summary:

Seeking a Pediatric and Adolescent Psychologist for Cook Children's Psychology Clinic. Come join our collaborative multi- disciplinary team of professionals where you will administer psychological and neuropsychological testing to our pediatric clients ages 2 - 18 years of age. Will also have the option of providing some outpatient psychotherapy (family and individual therapy). May provide supervision to Practicum students for neuropsych and/or psychological training and testing. Must possess knowledge and understanding of normal pediatric/adolescent growth and brain development and have experience with pediatric/adolescent mental health diagnoses and a variety of treatment milieu and psychological tests. Experience with ADHD, developmental delays, mood disorders, complex psychiatric and neuropsychiatric conditions, and trauma-informed care is preferred.

Required Education/Qualifications:

  • Doctoral Degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) from an APA accredited institution.
  • Experience using a variety of treatment milieu and psychological tests.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work alongside a multi-disciplinary team with the opportunity to develop outstanding leadership skills.
  • Training in neuropsych during practicum and/or internship is encouraged.
  • Understanding of the impact of trauma and ecological, biological, and developmental factors on children and adolescents.
  • Prior experience working with children & families (preferred).
  • Experience providing therapy to children with ADHD, developmental delays, mood disorders, autism spectrum disorders, complex psychiatric and neuropsychiatric conditions, and trauma-informed care (preferred).
  • Demonstrate commitment to high standards of patient care and maintain a positive experience for all children and families.

Required Licensure and Certification:

  • Licensed Psychologist in the state of Texas, or the ability to obtain.(will consider Provisional License if close to licensure).
  • American Heart Association CPR must be obtained prior to start.
