Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a visionary Solutions Architect in our Huntsville, AL office, supporting the development of innovative and competitive technical solutions for new and existing business opportunities within the Exploration & Lunar Presence mission area. Reporting to the Exploration & Lunar Presence EVP, this individual will play an essential role in Astrion's growth within the federal government contracting and commercial marketsby translating customer requirements, mission needs, and emerging technologies into tailored, technically sound solutions and compelling proposal content.

The Solutions Architect will serve as a recognized technical expert, working closely with capture managers, proposal teams, technical subject matter experts, and business leaders to develop solutions that differentiate Astrion and align with customer priorities. This individual will contribute directly to federal capture and proposal efforts through technical solution development, technical writing, proposal content, capability briefings, and other business development activities.The role will also research and develop advanced applications and concepts that may lead to new products, capabilities, or business opportunities for Astrion.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in solution architecture and technical solution development, along with demonstrated experience supporting federal government captures and proposals. The successful candidate will be comfortable analyzing customer requirements, developing and communicating technical approaches, translating complex technical concepts into clear written content, and collaborating across technical, capture, and proposal teams. Experience in the aerospace sector is required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Experience: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with 12-15 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 10-13 years of experience in solution architecture, technical solution development, capture, proposals, or related technical roles supporting the federal government contracting sector. Experience in the aerospace sector is required.
  • Federal Contracting & Proposal Experience: Demonstrated experience supporting federal government captures and proposals, including developing and/or authoring technical solution content, technical approaches, white papers, capability briefings, or other proposal deliverables.
  • Technical Solution Development: Strong understanding of federal mission requirements, technologies, and emerging trends, with the ability to translate customer needs into differentiated technical solutions aligned with organizational capabilities and strategic objectives.
  • Technical Writing & Communication:Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to develop clear, concise, and compelling technical contentand communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaboration Skills: Demonstrated ability to work effectively with technical subject matter experts, capture managers, proposal personnel, business leaders, and other stakeholders to develop responsive and compelling solutions.
  • Analytical Thinking: Proven ability to analyze customer requirements, identify capability gaps and opportunities, develop tailored solutions, and assess how Astrion capabilities can address customer needs.
  • Security Clearance: Active security clearance or the ability to obtain one is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop Tailored Technical Solutions: Analyze customer requirements, mission needs, and evaluation criteria to develop technically sound and differentiated solutions that align with customer priorities and Astrion's capabilities. Collaborate with technical teams, capture personnel, and proposal staff throughout the solution development process.
  • Proposal Development & Technical Writing: Develop and author technical solution content for federal government proposals, including technical approaches, solution narratives, white papers, and other proposal deliverables. Translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling, and compliant content that directly addresses customer requirements and evaluation criteria.
  • Support Capture Strategy:Work closely with the VP, Campaign Lead of Exploration & Lunar Presence, Capture Managers, and other business development leaders to shape technical strategies and position Astrion capabilities for new business opportunities. Identify technical differentiators and opportunities to strengthen competitive positioning.
  • Technical Proposal Collaboration: Partner with proposal teams and subject matter experts to ensure technical content is accurate, responsive, cohesive, and aligned with the overall solution and capture strategy. Contribute to reviews and revisions throughout the proposal development lifecycle.
  • Capture Support & Capability Briefings: Support capture and business development efforts through technical presentations, capability briefings, customer engagements, and other activities designed to communicate Astrion's technical capabilities and proposed solutions.
  • Design and Research Advanced Applications: Leverage technical expertise to design and develop advanced applications and solutions that drive innovation and align with Astrion's strategic goals. Propose concepts that may lead to new product or business opportunities.
  • Support the Capability Catalog: Assist in maintaining and refining Astrion's capability catalog by documenting current technical competencies, identifying capability gaps and areas for expansion, and helping translate technical capabilities into customer-focused messaging. Collaborate with the MARCOM team to develop capability sheets and other external-facing materials.
  • Strategic Solutioning: Work with technical leaders, capture managers, and business development stakeholders to identify emerging technologies, customer needs, and market opportunities that align with Astrion's strategic objectives and Exploration & Lunar Presence mission area.
  • Build Collaborative Relationships: Establish strong working relationships with subject matter experts, technical teams, capture personnel, proposal staff, and key stakeholders. Build credibility quickly and facilitate effective collaboration across diverse teams.
  • Market & Competitive Awareness: Stay informed on federal contracting trends, customer priorities, emerging technologies, competitor activities, and developments within the aerospace and government sectors. Apply this knowledge to solution development, capture strategy, and proposal efforts.
  • Organizational Skills: Effectively manage multiple solution development, capture, proposal, capability development, and market research activitieswhile meeting established deadlines and deliverables.
