Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for our lumber mill in Rome, Georgia. In this role, you will lead and develop a skilled maintenance team while improving workplace safety, equipment reliability, and operational performance. Our Team

The Rome lumber mill is a fast-paced manufacturing operation where Maintenance partners closely with Operations, Reliability, Engineering, and Safety. The team focuses on preventing serious incidents, improving equipment performance, and supporting dependable production. Georgia-Pacific's Rome Lumber mill produces Southern Pine dimension lumber used throughout the building industry for residential and commercial construction, pressure-treated applications, trusses, pallets, and general framing.

Rome, Georgia is conveniently located approximately one hour northwest of Atlanta.

What You Will Do

  • Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance team, with a strong focus on preventing serious injuries and maintaining compliance with safety and environmental requirements
  • Set clear priorities and expectations; provide timely feedback, recognition, and performance coaching
  • Build team capability through training, skill development, effective work assignments, and knowledge sharing
  • Coordinate preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to improve equipment reliability and production performance
  • Partner with Operations and other departments to troubleshoot equipment issues, prioritize work, plan outages, and implement sustainable improvements
  • Use maintenance data and problem-solving methods to identify recurring failures, address root causes, and reduce downtime and cost
  • Promote an inclusive, respectful work environment where employees are encouraged to speak up, share ideas, and take ownership of results

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Five (5) or more years of industrial maintenance experience, including millwright or maintenance supervision experience, in a heavy industrial, manufacturing, or military environment
  • Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel and documenting maintenance work in a reporting or computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Experience reading and interpreting mechanical, structural, and electrical drawings
  • Experience leading work, coaching employees, or coordinating maintenance activities
  • Must work in a manufacturing environment that may be hot, cold, noisy, dusty, indoors, or outdoors

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Associate degree or higher in maintenance technology, engineering technology, or a related technical field
  • Maintenance leadership experience in wood products or another continuous-process manufacturing environment
  • Experience leading root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
  • Experience improving preventive and predictive maintenance programs, equipment reliability, or maintenance planning and scheduling
