Radiologic Technologist

Position Summary

Performs routine imaging examinations in Diagnostic Radiology on a scheduled and emergency basis following departmental QC/Exam Data Integrity Workflow Expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reviews and evaluates requisitions for Diagnostic imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed given diagnosis and clinical signs for routine examinations.
  • Identify patients according to Hospital Policy with 2 identifiers.
  • Selects appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
  • Assesses patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions and develop a care plan for that patients' specific needs.
  • Explain the examination and is able to answer questions from patient and parents regarding the exam and Radiation exposure, practices ALARA.
  • Follows Departmental QC/Data Integrity Workflow.
  • Practices High Reliability Training.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
  • An Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology is required. Bachelor's degree preferred
Experience:
  • Training in Diagnostic Radiology
License/Certifications:
  • MA Radiographer license and ARRT certification is required.

Salary Range: $33.60/hour-$60.49/hour

Senior Radiologic Technologist

Position Summary
This role performs both routine and complex diagnostic radiology imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety, image quality, and compliance with departmental protocols. It also includes mentoring junior staff, training clinical team members, supporting daily operations, and actively participating in professional development and hospital initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performs routine and complex imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety, following proper protocols, and maintaining image quality and radiation safety (ALARA).
  • Assess and support patients and families, tailoring care to individual needs and creating a positive, informed experience.
  • Train and mentor staff, including fellows, residents, students, and less experienced technologists in imaging techniques and departmental standards.
  • Support daily operations and equipment maintenance, including troubleshooting malfunctions, managing supplies, and contributing to quality assurance projects.
  • Participate in professional development and hospital initiatives, staying current on regulations and actively engaging in team meetings, compliance efforts, and core values-based practice.

Minimum Requirements
Education:
  • An Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology is required. Bachelor's degree preferred
Experience:
  • 3 years of experience in Diagnostic Radiology.
License/Certifications:
  • MA Radiographer license and ARRT certification is required.
  • BLS certification.

Salary Range: $35.62-$64.12/hour

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
