System Support Specailist
Cognitive Professional Services Inc. is submitting a proposal bid and is seeking a qualified System Support Specialist to support the United States Attorney's Office (USAO).

Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen. Must be and have the ability to prove U.S. citizenship.
  • Security Requirement: Successfully pass a Background Investigation (BI) and security screening.
  • Experience: 2 years of experience in a legal support position is preferred
  • Education: 2 year degree or higher

Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities: This position provides troubleshooting assistance and problem resolution for computer systems in a variety of environments. Such assistance and resolutions are provided for personal computers, servers and Local Area Networks (LANs).
  • Provide support to distributed PC/networking environment including installation, testing, repair, and troubleshooting for PCs linked to networks, printers, and other computer peripherals
  • Perform technical, operational, and training support to users of personal computers either by telephone, or on-site for PC desktop hardware and software packages
  • Install and test personal computers, printers and other peripherals, configure operating systems, and other application software programs
  • Troubleshoot computer problems, perform hardware and software diagnostics, coordinate needed repairs, resolve computer system problems, coordinate between users and components of a local area network, and participate in the evaluation of system configuration and software
  • Provide help desk functions via email, phone or in person
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Experience providing direct end-user support for the applications being supported, including both telephone support and on-site assistance to users.
  • Prior teaching/training experience involving computer applications, preferably database, imaging, or other automated litigation support applications
  • Hands-on familiarity with the network, telecommunications, and operating systems environment of the applications being supported
  • Experience in automated litigation support preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Skill in Operating a computer terminal, personal computer, various office machines (fax, scanner, copier)
  • Knowledge and understanding of the mission, functions, and litigative activities of the USAO
