Founded in 1906 as the Peabody School of Forestry, the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources is committed to providing teaching, research and outreach activities related to the conservation and management of our natural resources. Today74 faculty and 100+ support staff members are focused in fisheries and wildlife, forestry, geospatial information technologies, natural resource management, outdoor recreation and tourism, soil and water resources, and sustainability. Our programs emphasize the understanding of managed ecosystems throughout Georgia and the world.
Warnell offers a variety of degrees including a
Bachelor of Science,
Master of Science, Master of Forest Resources, Master of Natural Resources and Doctor of Philosophy. With more than 300 undergraduates and 230 graduate students, we provide training for those interested in careers across the spectrum of sustainable natural resources management. | Position Summary |
The position provides administrative support for the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs, and other members of the academic program staff in the Warnell School and reports to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs |

Incumbent should be detailed-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks in a time sensitive environment, should be eager to support others; should be able to work effectively with administrative officials, faculty, staff and students alike; should have strong organizational skills; should be an effective oral and written communicator; and should have the ability to maintain confidentiality. Experience with UGA's Financial processes, Classroom reservation software (25 Live), Athena, Banner, Qualtrics. Experience working with Certificate programs. |

Supports the Associate Dean and the Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs
- Provides administrative support and responds directly to routine requests
- Proofreads and transmits all work coming from the Associate Dean's office to proper locations
- Handles email communications, telephone, and mail addressed to the Associate Dean as directed
- Assists the Associate Dean with all phases and facets of the Promotion and Tenure process, 3rd year review of untenured faculty, and Post-Tenure review of tenured faculty
- Maintains records for the Academic Affairs office, organizes and maintains a filing system, prepares reports based on filed information on request, and keeps files up to date, maintains security and confidentiality of all records
- Handles preparation and recording of Learning Outcome Assessments using Microsoft Forms
- Distributes Instructor Reports to faculty

- Coordinates Warnell School certificate programs, verifies requirements, and clears students for graduation of certificates
- Provides administrative support for Warnell curriculum actions, including appeals, admissions, and academic program committees
- Provides support for Warnell Internship process: provides overrides, triages MOU approval between Academic Affairs, the Warnell Dean, and UGA Legal
- Coordinates and facilitates visiting speakers for seminars and student club events
