Walton Enterprises is seeking a skilled, highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join the team as a Senior Property & Estate Manager responsible for the comprehensive management and oversight of the family's primary residence, guest homes, and a small staff. The ideal teammate will possess excellent communication skills, the ability to adapt to changing needs, as well as the demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple teams. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of organization and attention to detail with an ability to manage many projects in unison, while also always providing a polished and professional client facing experience.

About the Position

You'll join an exceptional team responsible for managing a portfolio of residential properties while delivering seamless, high-quality experience for owners and their guests. You will work collaboratively and independently on projects, from conception to completion, and must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion and tight deadlines.

What you will do

The Senior Property & Estate Manager will supervise a small staff and hold primary responsibility for household operations, project management, administration, staffing, service, financial oversight and policy implementation including:

    Lead projects and initiative on behalf of the family, with primary accountability for the management and maintenance of the primary residence and oversight of additional properties.
  • Collaborate closely with team members to successfully execute cross-functional projects, such as Construction, Security, Maintenance, Risk Management, Art Collection Management and Guest Management.
  • Directly supervise a small team including responsibility for hiring, training, goal setting, performance evaluations, and coaching for improvement.
  • Assess and improve current processes and coordinate organizational procedures to ensure the services and care of the properties are provided in an efficient and high-quality manner.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of owner preferences and translate those preferences into operational standards and service expectations.
  • Manage property calendars, including guest and family visits, maintenance and repairs, etc.
  • Establish and maintain organizational systems within the homes to ensure each residence is orderly, thoughtfully arranged, safe and functional.
  • Personally conduct weekly home walk-throughs to ensure homes are well maintained and in top condition
  • Manage pre-arrival through post-departure experience for owners and their guests.
  • Manage vehicle oversight, including maintenance schedules, logistics, registration and insurance.
  • Oversee network of third-party vendors; set clear expectations and build strong relationships with individual vendors and the vendor community.
  • Effectively negotiate terms and conditions with vendors to meet service expectations and ensure appropriate expense management.
  • Coordinate the development, maintenance and distribution of property related materials, documentation and collateral.
  • Coordinate and oversee residential design projects in alignment with the Principals preferences, established budgets and project timelines.
  • Oversee and reconcile purchasing, invoicing, contractor payments, and department credit card.
  • Independently assess, resolve and escalate operational issues and emerging risks as appropriate.
  • Provide specialized concierge services to the family, exercising discretion, resourcefulness and sound judgment.
  • Maintain accurate and current databases, records, and operational documentation for all properties.
  • Drive an automobile on company business.
  • Solicit and apply owner feedback to advance continuous improvement in service delivery, property operations and team performance.

The chosen candidate will have a strong track record of successfully managing competing demands. They will possess the ability to thoughtfully assess and revise policies and structures to meet the changing needs of the family and environment as required.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Hospitality, or related field
  • 10+ years of property management, hospitality or event management experience
  • Ability to work with a high level of confidentiality and discretion
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite including Excel skills with the ability to efficiently create as-needed reports
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving, and interpersonal skills; ability to give and receive feedback graciously
  • Prior supervisory experience with the ability to manage deadlines, set accountability and high expectations for team members and create a high-functioning, collaborative work environment
  • Valid driver's license

Work Environment

This job is primarily performed in a professional office environment in Bentonville, Arkansas. Locations of work will vary and could include homes, office locations, restaurants, hotels, museums, outdoor venues and private residences. While performing the duties of this job, the associate may occasionally be exposed to wet or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, cold and hot temperatures. The associate must be able to lift or move up to 25 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This opportunity is a full-time exempt position. Standard operating hours are 8:00 am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday, yet flexibility is required based on owner and guest schedules, property needs, emergencies, projects and business priorities. Occasional evening and weekend work are required.

Travel

Some travel will be required. All authorized business-related travel expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with policy.
