Job Description

This position supports the planning, development, and implementation of clinical and healthcare research studies and clinical trials utilizing REDCap and other research data systems. The position partners with investigators, research teams, and other stakeholders to facilitate the effective and compliant collection, management, and use of research data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supports the planning, development, setup, and maintenance of clinical and healthcare studies and clinical trials within REDCap, including databases, data collection tools, forms, surveys, and study workflows.
  • Partners with investigators and research teams to understand study requirements and translate research needs into effective data collection and management solutions.
  • Provides training, technical assistance, and ongoing support to faculty, staff, investigators, and research teams utilizing REDCap and related research databases.
  • Troubleshoots database and user issues and assists with identifying solutions to improve data collection processes, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Serves as an Honest Broker for research data requests, facilitating the appropriate collection, extraction, and release of data while protecting patient and research participant confidentiality.
  • Reviews and facilitates data requests to ensure fulfillment is compliant with MU Health Care and School of Medicine information security, privacy, and data governance requirements, as well as applicable institutional policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborates with appropriate compliance, privacy, information security, clinical, and research stakeholders to address data access and security requirements.
  • Supports appropriate management of sensitive and confidential healthcare and research information and assists research teams in maintaining secure data practices.
  • Provides data and database-related support for research grants, grant applications, study development, and funded research projects.
  • Assists investigators and research teams with identifying data requirements and resources needed to support proposed and ongoing research.
  • Maintains documentation related to database development, data requests, access, training, and established research data processes.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve research data workflows, REDCap utilization, documentation, and overall efficiency.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned in support of the research mission of the School of Medicine.
Shift

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $17.40 - $23.85 hourly
Grade: GGS - 007
