Painter - JLL

What this job involves:

The Painter plays a vital role in maintaining, protecting, and enhancing the appearance of our client facilities through expert painting and minor carpentry work. This position supports operational excellence by performing inspections, repairs, and maintenance on various interior and exterior surfaces. You'll work both independently and collaboratively with our facilities team and third-party vendors to ensure our client spaces remain functional, safe, and visually appealing. Due to the nature of our client's business operations, this role routinely requires work on 2nd shift and possibly Saturday or Sunday, offering you the opportunity to make a direct impact on facility quality and client satisfaction.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Perform all work with a strong customer service mentality, moving furniture, equipment, and fixtures from work areas and staging protective coverings as needed
  • Inspect damaged surfaces including plaster, drywall, water-damaged areas, and ceiling/wall cracks to determine repair needs
  • Apply corner bead, tape, patch, sand, strip, wash, and prime surfaces, ensuring areas are returned to working order upon project completion
  • Install and/or repair drywall and plaster, along with signage, trim, and other typical carpentry tasks
  • Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting conditions that impact client occupancy and operations
  • Update work order status in real time utilizing the CMMS system and escalate problems or issues to customers and management in a timely manner
  • Complete Hazard Assessments, comply with all safety procedures, maintain good housekeeping, and ensure safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 3 years of applicable working experience in general building painting, repair, and maintenance
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods and regularly lift, move, and/or carry up to 20 pounds; frequently up to 30 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to perform overhead work while balanced on a ladder and work in difficult-to-access or confined areas
  • Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Knowledge of safe storage, usage, and disposal procedures for hazardous materials

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of applicable working experience in general building painting, repair, and maintenance
  • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software
  • Basic carpentry skills including drywall installation and repair
  • Familiarity with State, County, and City Ordinances, Codes, and Laws related to building maintenance
  • Previous experience working in occupied facilities with a strong customer service focus

Location:Onsite

Work Shift: 6:00pm to 3:00am Saturday or Sunday work may be required

Salary: $26
