Responsibilities

Peraton requires Systems Engineers to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) - 3 EOM. This position is located at MacDill AFB in Florida.

The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.

Design, engineer, deploy, and sustain ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping to automate CI population across on-premises and air-gapped enclaves supporting the accredited environment.
  • Maintain MID Server infrastructure - including clustering, load balancing, and placement across network segments and security enclaves - to ensure reliable, authorized coverage of the discoverable estate.
  • Configure and maintain Discovery schedules, behaviors, probes, sensors, and patterns for horizontal discovery of servers, network devices, storage, load balancers, and virtualization/hypervisor platforms.
  • Develop, extend, and troubleshoot Discovery patterns using Pattern Designer to support non-standard, legacy, and mission-specific infrastructure not covered by out-of-the-box content.
  • Implement top-down Service Mapping (pattern-, tag-, and traffic-based) to build application service maps and accurately capture upstream and downstream dependencies.
  • Manage secure credential handling through the ServiceNow Credential and External Credential Store (e.g., CyberArk), enforcing least-privilege access and DoD security requirements for discovery scanning.
  • Tune the Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE), CI identifiers, and reconciliation rules so that Discovery serves as an authoritative source and duplicate or orphaned CIs are prevented at the point of entry.
  • Diagnose and resolve Discovery faults, including ECC queue backlogs, probe/sensor and pattern operation failures, port/protocol and firewall issues, and MID Server connectivity or capacity problems.
  • Align discovered CI classes, relationships, and dependencies to the ServiceNow Common Service Data Model (CSDM) across the Foundation, Design, Manage, and Technical Services domains as applicable.
  • Integrate additional authoritative and third-party data sources through import sets, IntegrationHub, and Service Graph Connectors, reconciling all inputs into a single trusted CI record via IRE.
  • Establish, monitor, and report Discovery coverage, schedule performance, and resulting CMDB Health outcomes; drive systemic root-cause fixes rather than record-level corrections.
  • Support Authority to Operate (ATO) and Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities by ensuring Discovery output accurately reflects the accredited system boundary and that MID Servers and credentials satisfy applicable security controls.
  • Partner with Change and Configuration Management to validate that discovered relationships and impact analysis are accurate before changes are approved.
  • Produce and maintain Discovery design documentation, architecture diagrams, runbooks, standard operating procedures, and work instructions.
