Virginia Cancer Specialists, affiliated with McKesson Specialty Health and US Oncology, a leader in cancer care, is seeking an experienced full time Surgical Scheduler to work at our Cancer Center in Fairfax, Virginia. Under direct supervision, responsible for the coordination of procedures and surgical services that includes but not limited to coordinating with physicians, reserving operating rooms, scheduling anesthesia, and surgical assistants, providing pre-operative instructions and testing information to patients, obtaining test results, obtaining insurance authorization, and communicating surgical details to patients. Follows standard procedures and pre-established guidelines to complete tasks. May help orient and train co-workers. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards, and US Oncology's Shared Values. May help orient, train, and assign work of new employees. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
