Job Description Summary

Position Objective:

The Workday Senior QA Analyst is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of Workday Human Capital Management (HCM), Payroll, Benefits, Recruiting, Talent, and other Workday modules. This role develops and executes testing strategies, validates system configurations, identifies defects, and collaborates with functional and technical teams to ensure successful delivery of Workday enhancements, integrations, and releases.

The Senior QA Analyst plays a key role in mentoring, training and developing HRIS and functional team members in successful testing and quality assurance standards.

Position Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance & Testing

  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for Workday configurations and enhancements.
  • Perform functional, integration, regression and system testing and assist in coaching and supporting functional teams with UAT and end-to-end testing.
  • Validate business requirements and ensure solutions meet functional and technical specifications.
  • Identify, document, track, and manage defects through resolution.
  • Analyze test results and provide recommendations for corrective actions.

Integration & Data Validation

  • Test Workday inbound and outbound integrations with third-party applications.
  • Validate data conversions, interfaces, reports, and calculated fields.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across systems.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

Release & Change Management

  • Participate in Workday semiannual release testing and impact assessments.
  • Evaluate new Workday functionality, determine organizational impacts and make recommendations for roadmap planning.
  • Support production deployments and post-implementation validation activities.
  • Ensure system changes comply with established quality standards and governance processes.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with HR, IT, Finance, and business stakeholders to understand business needs and identify risks, gaps, dependencies and downstream impacts.
  • Work closely with project and technical teams during project life cycles.
  • Facilitate defect triage sessions and support issue resolution efforts.
  • Provide testing status updates and quality metrics to project teams and leadership.

Documentation & Process Improvement

  • Maintain testing documentation, including test plans, scripts, defect logs, test results and approvals for production deployment.
  • Develop and enhance QA methodologies, standards, and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency through automation and process optimization.
  • Support audits and compliance requirements related to system changes.

Team Training & Development

  • Mentor, coach, and develop HRIS and functional team members to build strong expertise in successful testing and quality assurance standards
  • Design and deliver training programs, knowledge-sharing sessions, and documentation to elevate team capabilities.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and accountability within the team.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, HR, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of quality assurance or software testing experience.
  • 5+ years of Workday experience.
  • Experience supporting several Workday modules such as HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Recruiting, Talent, Compensation, Time Tracking, or Absence Management.
  • Experience developing and executing test plans and test cases.
  • Strong understanding of testing methodologies, defect management, and SDLC processes
  • Experience training functional teams in testing and quality assurance standards
  • Experience with testing integrations, reports, and data validation.
  • HRIS, Payroll, or Human Resources business process knowledge.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred

  • Workday certification in one or more domains
  • Experience supporting Workday implementations, enhancements, or optimization initiatives.
  • Experience with test automation tools.
  • Experience with Jira, ServiceNow, or similar tools.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to bend, squat, crouch and/or reach and lift up to 25 pounds or more, as required by the job. Some Sunbelt jobs may require driving for long periods of time, loading and unloading heavy equipment, performing work in extreme weather conditions including rain, wind, or excessive temperatures and/or night and weekend work. Base Pay Range: $98,573.00 - 135,537.60
