The Procurement Buyer, as a member of our Procurement team, recommends and develops strategic purchasing strategies for their assigned area, or category. As a member of our Procurement team and larger Supply Chain team, this role will be involved in sourcing and purchasing for both Indirect and Direct procurement. Indirect including services, office equipment, software, supplies, etc. and Direct including raw materials used for manufacturing such as ingredients, packaging materials, and manufacturing equipment.

TheProcurement Buyer will be located on-site at the HARIBO factory offices in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, this role will also make visits to our corporate office in Rosemont, Illinois.

The idealProcurement Buyer candidate will have experience in both Indirect and Direct procurement, having worked directly for a manufacturer - ideally in the food, pharma, or consumer goods industry. Are you HARIBO?

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire contract lifecycle for procurement and purchasing for assigned area, including drafting the agreement, reviewing, negotiating terms and prices, and approving and executing the final signed contact
• As a member of our Procurement team and larger Supply Chain team, this role will be involved in sourcing and purchasing for both Indirect and Direct procurement
• Manage end-to-end strategic sourcing process for both Indirect procurement (services, office equipment, software, etc) and Direct procurement (raw materials including ingredients used in manufacturing and packaging, manufacturing equipment, etc) for HARIBO of America
• Perform cost benefit analysis and determine opportunities for savings
• Optimize supplier relationships, ensure proper lead-times to meet business needs
• Conduct day-to-day purchasing for multiple departments for HARIBO of America

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• 2+ years of work experience in procurement and buying / purchasing roles to include sourcing new vendors, analyzing costs, market analysis, ensuring proper-lead times with suppliers, and reviewing terms and prices
• Prior use of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Blue Yonder, or other ERP systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with BOTH Indirect and Direct procurement. This role will be involved in purchasing for both Indirect and Direct.
  • Indirect procurement purchasing including services, office equipment, software, etc.
  • Direct procurement purchasing including raw materials used for manufacturing such as ingredients and packaging, manufacturing equipment.
• The ideal candidate will have experience in both Indirect and Direct procurement, having worked directly for a manufacturer - ideally in the food, pharma, or consumer goods industry.
• Experience drafting RFPs and sourcing new vendors
• Ability to travel locally from Pleasant Prairie, WI factory offices to Rosemont, IL corporate offices, occasionally as needed
• Ability to travel domestically or even globally if needed
• SAP experience

• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Strong communication skills - both verbal and written
• Internal customer service mindset
• Demonstrated understanding of procurement trends and legal terms as they relate to purchasing contracts and framework agreements
